Draft @ brewpub. Black, cheerful head. Nose is cocoa, coffee, and not so much roast. Great big roasty flavors have depth and chocolate complexity. Is quaffable and soft. Remains a big chocolate creamy beer with session potential.

tiggmtl (4475) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 17, 2007
Roast and chocolate vie with some raisiny fruitiness with underlying toasted malt character. Opaque black body is topped with a creamy, fine bubbled line of head that lasts well and leaves some spotty lacing. Cocoa flavour with nice dry roast character and lingering dark fruits. Very easy to drink due to medium body with moderate carbonation and very dry texture. Sampled on tap at the brewpub.

Pint. Moderate creamy head on black. Light dusty nose. Very good strong dark malt flavour and chewy chocolate. Edge of prune. Dusty.

Very dark brown with a thin head. The aroma is creamy, roasty, chocolatey, slightly nutty and slightly spicy. Smooth body. Smoky accent to the chocolate body, with toasty & roasty notes. Smooth and very drinkable.
