Great beer! Goes super with crawfish stew or any other cajun food. This is the beer to drink down in New Orleans!

This is my second beer from Dixie today and both of them had this specific raspberry aroma ... If this is normal certainly this is not American standard. Golden clear, white average head, nice bubbles. Can I feel the ’Cypress wood barrels’? I think yes, and I think that I like that. It does give character to this beer. Nice refreshing stuff.
5 min later : The aftertaste is anoying ...

This beer is one of the worst beers I have sampled. I really expected more from a beer that is brewed in New Orleans, where so much alcohol is consumed. I actually found out more taste comes out when served warm, but it is still a skanky beer. Good for throwing into construction sites, and that’s about it.

I didn’t get a whole lot of anything from this. If the Nu Awlins Dixie people want to prove anything about their brewing, they need to work it quite bit harder than this. Times have changed, the world wants more.

Very faint bready malt aroma. Do I also detect an ever-so-slight lactic, woody note? Deep golden yellow in color with a white head, very effervescent. Flavor is uncomplicated, to be sure, but has an unfamiliar aspect... Could it really be the wood? Other than that, it’s pretty standard. Clean, mostly malt profile, followed by some very slight bitterness. Carbonated palate and light bodied. I wish I knew what else it was this beer tasted like, it’s very hard for me to describe. It’s almost sour, especially in the finish, but not quite. I dunno. Either way, it does help to differentiate this beer, and it is a little better than I was expecting.

Best thing going on a hot day in N’awlins! A good, smooth, tasty beer!

Pale yellow with fluffy white head that did not last. Some malt flavor I guess but no complexity in the taste. Good on a hot day with food.
