A rather basic beer here. Pours a golden amber with a pretty thick head. Has the scent of very grassy grains which continues into the taste as well as having a slight bitterness. Really comes down to an average beer of average quality. Considering the taste for the price, you might as well go with Red Dog. Same taste just a thinner texture.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. The pour is a headless golden yellow. The aroma is typical of an adjunct lager with barley malts, grains, and a feint hop cleanliness. The body is creamy and a bit better than light bodied. The taste begins malty and sweet and then there is a notable hop bitterness at the end. Better than many adjuncts.

I found this to be a pleasant surprise. It was not much to look at but it had a sweet taste that balanced out the typical blah of pale lagers.

mansquito (3114) - Nueva York, New York, USA - JAN 17, 2013
Ninth Ward, New York bottle ($5): Pours a pale gold with little head. Aroma is barely there, but basically your standard grains and whatever. Taste is pretty minimal, but there ain’t nothing really offensive in this. ’’Tis a drinkable pale lager.

12 oz bottle in Baton Rouge before an LSU game. Know drank this when I was younger (much). Slight malt aroma light pale pour not much flavor but nothing bad. Thin lager. I rated higher due to nostalgia

Foxbush (1219) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - NOV 7, 2012
UPDATED: NOV 8, 2012 12 oz bottle This was tasted at the Q in Richmond. There was not much aroma. the head was small and went awauy. I tasted some bananas and sour notes. The carbonation was soft and finish uninspiring. Dixie beer is brewed in Wisconsin; who knew?

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2013 Bottle from Heritage Liquors. Pale yellow pour with a small white head. Typical bland corn lager - not good by a long shot.

(old notes) Looks and smells like a typical macro lager. Sweet corn and malts on the tongue, no hops. Really watery. No reason to try again.
