12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a clear straw yellow with a fizzy one finger head. Tons of carbonation bubbles. Smell contains a good bit of corn and is fairly sweet smelling. A little more fruity than other AAL’s too. Adjuncts are definitely detectable in the taste, predominantly corn. There is a little grain buried underneath, though. A light fruityness reminiscent of peaches comes through and the beer is pretty sweet throughout until a crisp finish dries everything up. Overall, a quite underwhelming beer. For the price, which is equal to many great craft brews around here, it is a big let down.

Bottle (330ml):
Golden straw in colour with almost no visible head on the beer other than a tiny, bubbly lacing that disappears fast.
Unusual on the nose but still very much like a pale lager overall. There is some light malts as well as a strong, sweet lager aroma coupled with some faint grassy hops and grain. I also got some light yeast and mild fruit aromas.
Quite fruity with a mild malt base to the beer along with a stronger grassy hop flavour. There is some grain but this is minimal. I also tasted a bit of corn.
Light on the palate and very fruity and sweet for a pale lager. There is medium carbonation and a sticky sweet finish and a light bitter aftertaste.

A strange smell from this one put me off the beer at first although once it settled for a few moments it was a better beer for it. Quite sweet-smelling and definitely a fruity lager but not a bad effort really.

Clear gold with a white head. Corny, vegetal aroma. Taste is very sweet corny malt with light bitter, wood finish. Has that Minhas flavour (for what its worth).

Originally reviewed: 4/16/11. Another brew picked up in a mixed-sixer from Total Wine. I’ve been in a lighter-beer mood as of late, I spotted this one, and into the pack she went. 12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Pours a deep dark gold with a thin white head on top. No retention, no lace. The nose has an odd vegetable-scent to it right away, then sweetens on the finish. Honeycrisp apples, lemon, cheap grains. Good full mouth for a lager. Carbonation level spot-on. Not as thin as its macro peers. Good flavor with this one. Lemony citrus, husk, mild sweetness, and just a bit of hop flavor. Honestly, I really liked this. This could easily be a regular in my fridge this summer. It’s light, easy-drinking, more flavorful than most Adjuncts, and just overall refreshing. Way to go, Dixie.

Brown 330ml bottle (brewed in the EU, by people unknown). The bottle was reviewed on Friday 3rd July 2010, the bottles best before date being 28 Nov 2011. The beer was poured into a Hoegaarden Grand Cru glass. It had a golden lager look, large head that died very quickly, it was snow white. The body was a bit thin, but the beer was refreshing and bright, like most pilsner/lagers. It was over carbonated in my eyes, it made me burp, just like coke does. A just below average Lager in almost all aspects.

Smell of malts, hops... Golden colour, practically zero head. Rubbery aroma, watery palate. Taste diminishes quickly. Lightly sweet.
