12oz - Aroma of rusty water, burnt malts and a hint of smoke. Flavor is dirty, ashy and messy. Palate is sticky. It’s just not something I would want to drink again.

Dixie Blackened Voodoo has a tan, creamy head with lots of lacing as it recedes. Color is dark reddish-brown, with moderate carbonation. Appearance is clear- no cloudiness. Aroma is what could be described as burnt. Taste is similar to burned toast or dark-roast coffee. Overall, this is an excellent black lager. RJT

Pours a lasting ring of tan head with a clear, deep brown with some copper body. Aromas of floral apple and roasted malt. Flavor is floral apple, roasted malt, and toffee. Finish is malty and a little dry.

Pours brown with thin tan head. Nose is toasted malt. Flavor is that same toasted malt. Color is way to light for a good Schwarzbier. Pretty much nothing there taste-wise or nose-wise.

12oz twist-off bottle. Long lasting, light tan colored foamy head on to of a hazy light to medium brown color. Not as BLACK as a I feel a decent Schwarzbier should be . Aroma of musty toasted malts. A nice touch. Flavor is a semi sweet toasted malt character in a creamy textured body. Also a nice touch. Overall the flavor is a bit to light bodied but has a nice toasted bread essence to it.

Reminiscent of a lighter Odell 90 Schilling. Mediocre. I could drink it again, but I wouldn’t seek it out.

Pours medium amber with a good sized head. Aroma is mostly malt (caramel) with a hint of floral hops. Kind of thin in body, but lively with carbonation. Flavor is mild with some nuttiness and a touch of hops. Nothing special, but drinkable.

This was alright, but it could have done with more of a roasted character that I have come to expect from schwarzbiers. Easy drinking, some good malt flavors.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear, ruby-mahogany colored body with a thin, off-white head that dissipates quickly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is malty sweet with some caramels, honey, and brown sugar. A light butter and hint of spiced fruit. Flavor is a light malt sweetness with more of that honey from the aroma. Nutty with a light caramel and a bit of a leathery cocoa. Finishes with some fruit, a bit metallic, and a hint of roast with a very light bitterness. Fairly dry with a short aftertaste after a light, smooth, clean body. Overall, "blackened" it isn’t. Sweet, nutty, and lightly fruity with a hint of roast. Not bad, but unremarkable.
