JF_GRIND (1199), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 17, 2008 Man, it seems like this beer has been around forever and a day. Its nice to see Dixie Brewing continues to have it brewed. However this amber bodied Scwarzbier is just an average macro dark lager. Sampled @ World Cafe Live beer fest so I expect to see it back on shelves in the Philadelphia area.

Strykzone (880), Wood River, Illinois, USA Jul 19, 2008 A nice pour into a fluted glass. Good looking tan head with plenty of active carbonation. Amber color beer. A musty malty aroma is joined by a bit of hop. Flavor is roasted and unroasted malt with some yeast. A bit of anise. Very thin feel. Not one to become a staple, but an interesting beer. Ethereal (724), London, Greater London, England Jul 12, 2008 Bottle, at home with renffisch, 25th June 2008. Dark brown with little head, this has a somewhat interesting aroma of manila envelope and some blackcurrant! Tastes like a bland, sweet lager with little weight and a weak finish. Avoid. I should point out that this bottled was marked as being brewed in the EU.
