3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 T2Tool (352) - Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA - FEB 21, 2009Poured from a bottle a dark brown color. Not much of an aroma, but what was there was caramel, roasted malt and a slight sensation of hops. Taste was better than the smell with with roasted malt, sweet caramel, chocolate and brown sugar in there. Overall, a real enjoyable beer.

12oz bottle. Pours brown, clear, small head with very light lacing. Great aroma, very appetizing, with sweetbreads. Caramel-y taste, very balanced, bitter enough and complex for a lager. Different than other schwarzbiers I’ve had, not roasty at all. Pretty good, man!

12 oz.bottle. Pours a caramel brown color with a thin off white head. The aroma and flavor are mildly toasted malts, some earthy notes, mild overall. This was a beer that I used to drink back in the 90’s when there weren’t many options.
3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 6/20 Beerenberger (824) - Fischer, Texas, USA - MAY 22, 2013
Subdued nose of roasted malts. A dark brown pour with ruby highlights and a mostly diminishing tan head and minimal lacing. The taste is primarily sweet. Dark pitted fruit, malts, also a graininess with a slightly bitter finish. Medium body with medium carbonatin. Overall, I wouldn’t want to drink more than one at a time because of the sweetness. Having said that, this beer has some nice flavors and is enjoyable in limited quantities.

Pours a brownish reddish dark copper with lingering beige foam. The aroma is sweeter musty malts with a taste that is similar. Easy drinking lager, preferable over the abundance of southern amber lagers.

12 oz bottle pours s dark reddish-brown with average off-white head and some lacing. Aroma is full of roasted and sweet caramel malts and some licorice Tastes sweet without much of any finish. Could use more balance. Body is light to medium without much carbonation. The name and label are the best parts.
