mhelgason (415), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA Apr 26, 2008 bottle. average fizzy tan head (good portion lasting) with awesome lacing into sparkling brown body. aromas of slight licorice, caramel, light hops, light chocolate, and light coffee. flavor is bittersweet throughout. long finish duration. dry textured. I will say that I stull enjoyed this brew but when I had it a few years ago I remember it being a more powerful guy.

Strykzone (880), Wood River, Illinois, USA Jul 19, 2008 A nice pour into a fluted glass. Good looking tan head with plenty of active carbonation. Amber color beer. A musty malty aroma is joined by a bit of hop. Flavor is roasted and unroasted malt with some yeast. A bit of anise. Very thin feel. Not one to become a staple, but an interesting beer. Dark brown with little head, this has a somewhat interesting aroma of manila envelope and some blackcurrant! Tastes like a bland, sweet lager with little weight and a weak finish. Avoid. I should point out that this bottled was marked as being brewed in the EU.
