3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 ronaldtheriot (778) - Laplace, Louisiana, USA - APR 25, 2013
Dixie Jazz Amber Light has a thin, off-white head and a semi-clear, golden appearance, with some bubbles and essentially no lacing left on the glass. The aroma is of sweet, sour, and roasted grain, and the flavor is of those elements, with an added toffee note, and a back sip bitterness. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Dixie Jazz finishes crisp, clean, refreshing, and drinkable. Overall, this is an excellent and unusual light beer. RJT
1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 EtTuCthulhu (374) - Columbia, Missouri, USA - MAR 25, 2013
The aroma strongly reminds you of the typical American piss water (alcohol, yeast and malt), but the yeast smells more like toast than simply dough yeast; also, the color is pale yellow with nearly no white head, which also doesn’t give you high hopes for the beer. The taste is mildly sour, slightly sweet, and a touch salty, which isn’t that pleasing. The palate isn’t that impressive either with the combination of the thin texture, light body, a soft carbonation, and an abrupt finish.
1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 EithCubes (4193) - New Jersey, USA - FEB 18, 2013
Bottle. Nose is grassy, lightly stale, little grain and a little powder. Pours a deep orange-golden with an ephemeral white head. Sweet, artificial flavor skirts the rim of being cloying, there’s weak grain and grass, a little stale tasting, and the malt is so thin as to barely register. Light-bodied but not watery, mild and mildly crisp, a little dirty.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Lemke10 (538) - Janesville, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 24, 2013
Pours a very pale amber color with a quickly diminishing head. The scent already eludes that the taste is going to be that of a cheap beer. There is at least some flavor of so wheat and malts but it is very comparable to that of Miller Lite or Bud Light. Drinks rather fast with no real texture or volume to the beer. This is one you can skip.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Jimthechap (1190) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 2, 2013
Slightly opaque orange amber colour with a skim of white head that rose up upon pouring and then completely capitulated. Aromas of nutty amber malt. Coconut biscuits and macaroons. It really smells tasty.
The flavour is of sweet orange marmalade. Not especially bitter, but charming and quaffable. Not overly complex but thoroughly enjoyable. Became drier and more biscuity the longer it stayed in the mouth. More please.
1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20 cagou007 (149) - FRANCE - DEC 1, 2012
A hint of caramel and spices is not enough to give taste to this watery lager. Without any interest.
1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 BVery (4247) - Burnsville, Minnesota, USA - NOV 4, 2012
Bottle from Heritage Liquors. Mostly clear dull golden color with a minimal white head. Sweet cheap caramel lager with a little more heft than BMC. Nothing to write home about.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 5000 (4962) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - SEP 9, 2012
Bottle: Dull golden, light carbonation, little sudsy white head, no lacing. Sweet grassy nose, some straw/hay as well. Pale fruit and grassiness on the tongue. Pretty simple, yet clean. Body and mouthfeel are average. A little mealy on the backside. Decent, but wished it were a little crisper and less mealy.
