Ungstrup (11385), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 8, 2007 Bottled. A deep red beer with a bubblu light tan head. The aroma is sweet with strong spicy notes as well as hints of smoke. The flavor is sweet and very spicy with notes of cellery, fennel, and licorice, leading to a smooth spicy finish, which lingers for a long time. omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Apr 6, 2007 Updated: Jun 26, 2007Bottled. Nut brown, rich creamy head. Citric aroma of cinnamon and fennel. Sweet and nutty withlots of herbal spices and dough. Unfortunately all of it drowns in a sea of syrup, making it taste like extremely sweet buns. A bit unrefined and decidedly too sweet for me. Papsoe (10551), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 18, 2006 (On tap) Very unclear orangey brown with a creamy, light brown head. Very spicy aroma - I detect ginger but apparently this is not added. Medium body with some caramel and then again very spicy accents of spices. Some bitterness in the finish. Interesting. 011206 yespr (6943), Copenhagen O, Denmark Oct 19, 2007 50 cL bottle. Pours golden orange to amber, almost clear, with a light yellowish head. Complex spice aroma, label says 6 spices, I think I can sense annis seed, cardemomme, ginger, cloves, cinnemon and something extra I cannot make out what is. Flavour continues at the same pathway giving some more power to the individual spices. Underneath is a soft malt base, medium sweet to dry. Finish has a mild bitterness but is dominanted by the spices. Not my style of brew but certainly well crafted and somewhat unique. Well done. joergen (6529), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 3, 2006 Draught.
