Draft on mix gas. A pitch black beer with a dense dark brown head. The aroma is sweet and dominated by chocolate, but also with light notes of citrusy hops and alcohol, in general the aroma is quite light - which might be because it is served on mixed gas. The flavor is very sweet and very malty with strong notes of chocolate, roasted malt, and alcohol - a very powerful flavor, but a bit over the top for me - or is it just because it is young? The mouthfeel is very smoot due to the mixed gas.

Jul 19, 2008 draught, ølbaren, cph. Sweet coffee, roasted stuff, chocolate etc. Overall a great stout, but too sweet for my tastes, sort of unbalanced.

Jul 14, 2008 Bottled. Pitch black colour, small brown head. Aroma is osier, roasted malts, some burnt wet wood and mild coffee. Also some slight vanilla and nuts. Flavour is much the same, but the wooden notes are also slightly acidic. A quite pleasant brew.

Aroma: very, very nice, roasted coffee. Sourish yet very fresh. Totally amazing. Big malt & some black syrup. Salty, tar...
Flavour: smoky, woody, marvellous, very big. Nutty... slightly fruity... coffee... Well balanced & on the bitter side. Long maltbitter sourish aftertaste.
Palate: smooth, oily, creamy, fluffy yet fizzy... big as hell. Velvety.
Appearance: brownish black with colourful light brown cremafoam. Very pretty.

Jul 14, 2008 Bottled at Petalax Beer Festival. Very black with dense beige head. Fruity licorice aroma. Sweet and thick with vast portions plum, licorice and ink. Some buttery caramel, aniseed and salty licrorice chime in. Very powerful, but still young and syrupy. It sure has potential, but needs at least five years to get rid of the syrup and ink.

Jul 13, 2008 Tap at Århus Ølfestival 2008. Pours a beautyful black with a nice brownish head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel and chocolate. MMMMMMnnn the mouthfeel is soft and full and flavour is great with chocolate, nuts, roasted malt and caramel.
