English: Dark Beast is a Cascadian Dark Ale aka. Black IPA. Dark Beast is a dry and slightly burnt ale with US hops prominent in aroma as well as taste.

Lovley seductive black, with a thin cream head. Caramel and hints of hops in the aroma. Taste is balanced between the coffee bitterness and the floral, bitter hops. A very drinkable black IPA indeed :) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught at Crowbar & Bryggeri. Pitch black body. Tan-coloured patches on the surface. Ashy drying smell of dark malts, liquorice and nuts. Delicious taste of brittle caramel joined by earth and liquorice. Citrus hops beneath. Lingering, roasted bittersweet tail. Smooth in the mouth. Fine bodied and well crafted. A pleasant surprise to fine this one on a bar in Oslo, 11.03.2014.

Backlog. A good example of the style, if there’s anything to complain about it would be that the black malts sometimes become overpowering, although that could easily be attributed to age.

Balanced and well rounded beer. Dry and bitter, it’s managing of the hops provides a remarkable body and taste. Perfectly designed, it would be better with a higher ABV and more...soul.

10oz on tap at Neon’s. Very dark brown color. Thin khaki head. Ropes and dots of lace. Caramel malts are prominent. Some light chocolate, dark fruit, hint of coffee, very light roast. Flavor is mostly dark fruit, caramel, and maybe a light bit of licorice. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of crisp lighter carbonation. Lightly slick. Moderate bitter, moderate sweet taste, too. Light spiciness. Good chocolate malt in the flavor, nice roast in the finish, gets more noticeable as it warms up a bit. Hint of metallic. OK black IPA... Not really IPA-level hoppy. Doesn’t taste quite fresh, maybe. More just a black ale.

Draft. Poured dark brown color with an average frothy tan head that lasted and produced good lacing. Moderate to heavy complex toasted malt and earthy hop aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Moderate to heavy balanced toasted bittersweet flavor with a heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a solid beer.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
