Editor’s note: Previously brewed by Djævlebryg at Brøckhouse, Hillerød, Denmark.

Danish: Bryggeriet Djævlebryg and the Danish Atheist Society have entered into an unholy alliance and the result is "Godless": This first batch is a somehow accessible imperial stout with its 8.9% abv. It offers burnt notes from the malt mingled with sweet nuances and a warming depth from the alcohol. This brew is primarly aimed at members of the Atheist Society, but it will also be available in selected shops and bars. In these times, when companies are expected to show social responsibility, we in the brewery have decided to follow suit: For each bottle or draft sold we donate 1 Danish Krone to the Danish Atheist Society.

Tydlig beska gör sig märkbar ganska kort in i smaken. Även ett ganska bittert bett i avslutningen. Nästan lite sirap:ig med sin tunga kropp och lena och samtidigt lätt sträva kropp. Riktigt bra imperial stout!

Pours a deep, black colour with a thick, dense off white head from the bottle. Lighter aromas of cookies, caramel, chocolate syrup, and roasted malts. Slight bitterness, but matching the aromas, with a sharp, sweet finish with the alcohol coming through late only slightly restrained. Enjoyed this brew, would like to try some of the other offerings from these guys.

Pours a black from a bottle, somewhat cola-y aroma, sweet syrupy treacle flavor too. Good beer.

Tap@Orsted Olbar, Copenhagen – black pour with good beige creamy head. Roasted malty aroma and taste with notes of coffee, cocoa, some caramel sweetness, some dark fruit, great mouthfeel, according to barmen this rebrew (original was retired) was at the request of fans of this beer, so got to say thanks to them, quality drop this.

Review from notes. Black color with dark brown head. Aroma has dark fruits and a slight cinnamon note. Taste is very balanced between sweet and bitter. First you get the fruit flavor, cherries stand out, and on the finish you get coffee. Smooth, heavy body with the alcohol hidden very well. A very well made imperial stout with complex taste.
