COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English:: "Hjul & Stejle" is an old execution method called "The Wheel" in English which was often used for blasphemers and the like. Christmas is a time ripe with beliefs and myths - yet belief in Jesus, Santa Claus and angels ought to be a thing of the past. We symbolically execute Santa Claus and the like and propose a toast in Hjul & Stejle: A beer where the clean hop bitternes and distinctive flavour of rye malt is balanced by the dry, spicy contribution from Brettanomyces at work. Hjul & Stejle is a good match for any Christmas lunch - whether you believe or not! Launched november 2009.

On tap at KØ-10. It’s a clear, golden beer with a nice, off-white head. Some bretty notes on the nose, pale malts as well. Pale malts, a good fruityness and some brett in the flavor, finishing with some bitterness in addition to the brett and citrus. Medium body, dry. A refreshing beer, easy drinkable and probably a bit too careful. 100507
