COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Udfordrende, særegen men alligevel let drikkelig. Mareridt er en oplagt ledsager til dyriske sommeraktiviteter.

Backlog. Love most of their beers, this isn’t one of my favourites though..

Bottle from BarleyWine, Copenhagen (BB Aug 2014). Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly lasting. Body is light amber. Aroma is notes of smoke, bile, rotting vegetables, plastic. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately to heavily acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately to heavily acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, unclean. Medium body, watery texture, lively/fizzy carbonation. A badly infected batch. Utterly and completely undrinkable. Wouldn’t have even rated it, but noticed others have been having the same experience so it’s not a one-off bottle.

500 ml bottle shared with czar, thanks mate. Pours a foggy orange with a resilient white head. Aroma is smokey, whiskey. Flavor is meat, a touch of sugar, malted cereals, salt. Mostly tart finish, not quite bitter, if not for a touch of lemon. Lingering tart and lemon flavor. Medium body, medium to strong carbonation. Alright, no more. Out of the ordinary, although that may not quite be a good thing...

czar (4364) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 13, 2013
pours muddy orange with a frothy off-white head, good retention and lacing. bacony-smoky, fruity metal, minerals, hint of wheat, peppery, tons of yeasts, light acidity, acrid berries and oxidated tobacco. average carbonation, light body - watery, grassy-yeasty-lightly acidic finish. unique and awkward - umamied smoke and acrid acidity. very unpleasant and simply horrid. DP.

50 cl bottle @ Olutravintola Konttori. Rated on 15.01.2010
Aroma has grainy malt, some caramel and distant smoky notes. Flavour has caramel, some smoke and grain. Palate is too high on CO2. Quite light on smoke and quite boring too.

500ml bottle from IPB..
Appearance : Clear amber with medium head.
Aroma : Woody smoke with touch of meaty smoke as well. Some acidic notes. Light phenolic notes. Yeasty notes.
Taste : Smokey with acidic notes. Light green apples with smoke. Yeasty finish with faint funk.
Overall : Quite an awkward beer. Hard to describe. Not sure about the mix between smoke and acidity. I don’t like this enough to drink this whole bottle for myself. Still is has some interesting features but overall, not very good.

500ml bottle, slight hazy amber hue, with a white-beige head, but falling quickly, nice mild yeasty fruity bananaish, faint funky nose, with some mild smoked, toasted, wheat malt, cheesy, doughy, subtle corny accents, with a light green vetetable, tea, tobacco leaf smokiness, milkyish note in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, subtle funkiness, stewed apple fruitiness, smoked, toasted, wheat malt, faint beechwood character, with some doughy, light green burnt vetetable, milky flavors, leading towards a yeasty, funky, smoky, wheaten maltiness, doughy, milky finish.

brnandersen (1905) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - NOV 8, 2012
Sample from 50 cl. bottle. Dark, orange colour with a white head. Smoked aroma with campfire, wood, lighter brett notes - cellar, horse blanket, fruity and caramel malts, light hints of citrus hops. Taste is light sweet and smoked. Medium body with a slightly oily texture, soft carbonation. Finishes bitter with an earthy note, some nuts - caramel malts and smoke. I like the complexity in this smoker.
