COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: Previously brewed by Djævlebryg at Brøckhouse, Hillerød, Denmark.

English: Mystikale is a top-fermented red-brown beer inspired by Sottish as well as Danish brewing traditions. Mystikale is brewed with 6 different spices, among others liqourice root and hip shell, which give the beer a complex and intriguing taste. Mystikale goes very well with traditional Danish lunch and spiced poultry dishes.

Bottle, 6.5% at Frederikshavn øl- og vinfestival 07. Anis and liquorice aroma and flavour, with nice and warming fresh ginger. Slight alcohol touch, all in all well-balanced. Good mouthfeel.

Bottled. Amber coloured. Light hazy. Dense light brown head. Sweetness, spice, light fruits and citric herbs in the aroma. Flavour is herbal, spcied and light fruity. Has a nice balance. Is meidum bodied. Is spiced and bitter in the end. Very easy to drink.

UPDATED: JUN 26, 2007 Bottled. Nut brown, rich creamy head. Citric aroma of cinnamon and fennel. Sweet and nutty withlots of herbal spices and dough. Unfortunately all of it drowns in a sea of syrup, making it taste like extremely sweet buns. A bit unrefined and decidedly too sweet for me.

Devilbrew and it gets an overall of 13! Reddish-brown color, almost clear. Off-white head, medium lasting. Lacing. Sharp medicine aroma. Flavor is medicine too and a lot of sweet laqurice. Spinach as Jukkabro writes...I don’t know....Iron? astringent? perhaps the man has a point.

Dark red colored, fastly vanishing yellow head. Cloudy appearance. Cardamoom dominates in christmassy aroma, berries, licorice and some sweet caramel also there. Medium bodied, obvious carbonation. Flavor has again this traditional Danish-hoppiness, which somehow reminds me of spinach :) Cardamoom, caramel and licoreice also there in good balace, aftertaste has berries with mildly drying touch.

Bottle. Sparkling brown color. Ginger and red berries in the aroma. Ginger in the sweetish, rather herbal flavor, again with red berries. Rather grainy. Drinkable.
