COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: Previously brewed by Djævlebryg at Brøckhouse, Hillerød, Denmark.

English: Old Mephisto is a big beer: Full, warming and intense. Old Mephisto offers balanced sweetness, roasted caramel and a rounded bitterness - all held together by the vinous character. The inviting brandy coloured Old Mephisto can be enjoyed with strong cheeses, full game dishes or on its own.

Fad.

Hazy red amber with a big and lasting off-white head. Fruity and vineous aroma with some cherry. Strong licorice notes. A hint of mushroom. Dry and alcoholic flavour, slihgtly roast and with some licorice. Strong and warming alcohol. All Djævlebryg is unusual and I give credit for that, but this one didn’t surprise me in a positive way.

50 cl bottle, at my «Hopheads» tasting. Color is brown/reddish, head is off-white. Aroma is sweet with dried fruit. Flavor has a lot of floral sweetness, with malt and some hops. Alcohol is well hidden. Dry finish.

Tap @ Olbaren, Copenhagen. Pours dark amber with a white head. Aroma is sweet malty, vinous & spicy. Full bodied & very smooth. Alcohol is well hidden & the beer is extremely easy drinkable. Sweet caramel & anise/herbs dominates like in Mystikale! Nice Barley wine!

Bottle. Pours a beautyful dark amber with a smalle creamy head. Aroma of raisins and prunes and it has som viniousity to it. Flavour is again raisins and prunes with a nice viniousity and a dryness in the end. It is very creamy and has a nice palate.
