COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: Brewed by Djævlebryg at Brøckhouse, Hillerød, Denmark.

Danish: I 2009 fejres Charles Darwins 200-års fødselsdag og 150-året for udgivelsen af "On the Origin of Species".

Hazy yellow towards amber look with a nice big white head. Aroma is packed with grassy hops along with some minor notes of caramel. Only medium bitterness with grassy hops dominating. Not overly exciting but very drinkable.

50 cl bottle, bought at Havnens Vin & Tobakshus, Vejle. Shared with Roger in a hotel room in Aalborg. Amber color, fine white head. Aroma is hoppy with dried fruit and malt. Flavor is sweet malty and hoppy with a halfdry bitter finish. A bit young, but nice. Celebrating Darwin and my 1500th rating.

Amber color; medium head but reducing quickly. The aroma is strange, a bit phenolic, cough syrup, vanilla. It has a good body strength and a smooth mouthfeel, with caramel flavor, balanced, and a strong bitterness, but without resins or fruitness. The alcohol can be perceived. Average.

2009-02-20, draught at Ølbaren, Copenhagen, 6-4-7-4-14=35
Hazy amber color; creamy head. Aroma of ripe fruits, a bit vegetable, strange. Strong body, strong caramel flavor, quite strong bitterness. Solid but not exciting. Warming; close to booze.

Fad.

Draft. A hazy amber beer with a huge lazing white head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel and some fruit and hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, malt, and some citrusy hoppy notes as well as some herbs, leading to a nicely bitter finish.

(Draught at Örsted Ölbar, Copenhagen, 14 Feb 2009) Amber colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with citrus, orange peel and caramel. Malty, fruity taste with notes of orange, caramel and citrussy hops in a finish with generous, but well balanced, bitterness. Alcohol gives it some sweetness, but stays in the background. Nice and solid beer.

Thank you, Madsnp
Pours orange with a nice, creamy, off-white head. Fine lacings. Aroma is sweet, oily hoppiness, light yeast notes and fruit. Hops are grassy and pine. Very dry mouthfeel, but not intirely impressive. Flavour is all hops, very dry, some pine and flowers. A bit of yeast peeps through. A little too dry for its own good.
