COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: Previously brewed by Djævlebryg at Brøckhouse, Hillerød, Denmark.

English: This beer is worthy of the Dark Lord. In both smell and taste it is a true orgy of the senses: Burnt, bitter and sweet. Savory and warming, full bodied and complex. Pride of Nekron is simply put a majestic meal in itself.

Draught @ Ølfestival Aarhus 2008.
Clear medium to dark black color with a average, frothy - creamy, good lancing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is chocolate, burnt, malty. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (160508)

Draught, 10.5% at ÅBF08. Roast coffee aroma, not as powerful as I thought it would be. Very black colour. Nice big brown semi-stable head. Quite powerful flavour. Roasted, quite sweet and alcoholic. Alcohol flows into my nose in the finish. Very late barley bitterness. Quite dry finish.

Draught at Ølfestival 2008, Århus
Black color, with a beautiful creamy head. The aroma is too mild, but it has an excellent mouthfeel: strong, full, smooth. Good flavor, the dark caramel and chocolate over the roasted malt, and a nice warming bitterness. Very good.

On tap at Ølbaren. Pours pitch black with lasting brown head. Lots of espresso in nose with roasted malt, vanilla and dark fruits. Flavour is more coffee, bitter hops, roasted malts, tobacco and caramel. Finish is long and smooth. A beauty.

500ml botlle from Barley Wine.(Doomsday:17.04.08). Shared with Arild and Finn Arvid at a hotel room in Copenhagen. Pours a devil-black body topped by a dark-yellow foamy head. Heavy stuff with moderate smell of roasted coffee beans and with the taste of liquorice, prunes and more black coffee beans. Welcoming bitter endnotes. Full mouthfeel and masked alcohol - satans godt øl! (31.05.2008).

Black with a fine dark foam that lasted. Heavy coffee aroma along with liquirice. Flavor is medium sweetmalt again with salty liquirice and a good amount of roasted bitter chocolate and coffee notes. Not alot of hobs are detected, but thats quite alright!

On tap. Pours black with a big light brown head. Smells a bit of alcohol. Sweet and high hoppiness. Bitter with aromas of chocolate and hints of toasted malts. Some residual sugars. Full bodied with a slightly sticky mouthfeel. Dry vinous finish. Good stuff.

(Bottled) Almost black with a smallish, beige head. Very original aroma, a bit like "tilliliha" (could ir be diacetyl?) - also sourish and salty. Smooth, roasty, licoricey, tarry, very salty and pleasant flavor. Alcohol well hidden. Full-bodied, very silky-smooth palate. An interesting, silky, truly great Imperial Stout. Might be even too salty in larger doses, though.
