Draught@EBF 2008. Pitch black, creamy choco head. Strong and delcious aroma of refined malts, coffee and milk-chocolate. Notes of fruity hops. Taste is full malty, gently sweet, with caramel and chocolate, and some nice dark fruits. Medium to full body. Thick mouthfeel. Warming, malty and bittter ending. Very nice, very powerful.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Keg (EBF2008, Copenhagen)
Zingy hoppy aroma, fruity too. Sticky burnt taste. Huge zingy mouth, tons of roasty choco body. Burnt finish. A bit too alcoholic, but not offensive. A little sticky too. Potent. Prefer the other two.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
0.5 l bottle. Pitch black with dark tan head. Coffee, licorice, raisins, dark bread and salty licorice in the aroma. Sweet very pronounced coffee and licorice flavor with raisins and bread. Warming, too carbonated palate. Tasty and rich brew, this could be more complex though, now it is mostly about coffee and licorice.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draught at EBF. Vinous, juniper nose with dry cocoa and strong berries. Extremely balanced flavor, dry dark chocolate on the fore, then juniper, vinous berries and smooth cocoa in the finish. Full bodied, silky palate. Nicely different Impy.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
A wonderfully diabolic imperial stout. Dark with dark head. Powerfully nuanced and lots of character. Must have again.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at EBF 08. More tarry than the straight Nekron. It’s more roasted, still some of hte best roasted choc malts of the festival. More vinous, some dark cherry. Still pretty stunning and outrageous. God I love this brewery. Some toffee/fig on aroma. Definitely vinous, chocolate. Well blow me.

Cask, EBF, Copenhagen.
Liquirice, coffee, long sweet and sour aftertaste. As their other beers - deceivingly smooth.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Medium brown lasting head. Nearly opaque black body. Burnt malty rye aroma with pine needle hops. Dry-acidic burnt grainy malty taste with chocolatey notes. Leaves sticky sugars on the lips. Dry burnt plum aftertaste. Nice. (0.1l taster draft at EBF ’08.)
