COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: Previously brewed by Djævlebryg at Brøckhouse, Hillerød, Denmark.

English: This beer is worthy of the Dark Lord. In both smell and taste it is a true orgy of the senses: Burnt, bitter and sweet. Savory and warming, full bodied and complex. Pride of Nekron is simply put a majestic meal in itself.

TEJA (1212) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 12, 2012
Draught at Stockholm beer and whiskey festival 2011. Thinn head. Fruity aroma with some madrification. Fruity, sweet taste with some burnt malts. Big body. A bit too sweet.

50cl bottle pours dark mahogany with mocha colored head with small tan like swirls. The aroma offers up dark roasted malts, prunes, dates and figs as well as a bit of burnt malts. Alright, this is old school imperial stout goodness and it is scratching me right where I itch. The taste delivers rich dark roasted maltiness, a dash of burnt malts, chocolate and then it slips and slides into sweet prune and fig like dark fruity estery goodness. I am really enjoying this.

ContemplateBeer (1434) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - NOV 21, 2012
Aroma of moderate roasted malts, bitter chocolate and light coffee. Appearance is black with tan head. Flavor is surprisingly hoppy, with chocolate and roasty notes to follow. Palate is very bubbly and creamy with a huge mouthfeel. Very good, but uneven in some minor ways.

mcberko (5368) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 10, 2012
On tap at Apex, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, some deep dark fruit and brown sugar. Flavour of roasted caramel malts, some scorching hops, brown sugar and a bit of chocolate. Full-bodied and well-rounded, with a healthy hop punch. But relatively boring and unadventurous for the style.

Sample from 50 cl. bottle. Black with a reddish hue and a dense, lasting light tan head. Sweet and powerful aroma with dark dried fruits, hard roasted malts and an alcoholic note. Taste is sweet. Full body with a creamy, almost thick texture. Finishes with caramel malts, sweet, dark dried fruits and hard roasted malts. Alcohol notes almost vinous. Tasted alongside the excellent Nekron stout this one only offered more alcohol and a thicker palate and not much else however, still an excellent beer.

Tap @ Apex... Poured jet black with a thin forming, nice retaining khaki head. Sort of thin in the mouthfeel for the style. Quite sweet with dark chocolate and mocha-like coffee. Mild warming alcohol. I just wish it were a little more viscous.

On tap at Apex Bar in Portland, OR. Colour...darn near black with a thick tan head. Nose...booze, dark fruits, chocolate ganache, coffee. Palate...very frothy and a bit tangy up front with plenty of day old coffee, dark Dutch chocolate, fudge brownies and ash. A rare treat!

Burned sweet and burley. Bittersweet delicious and high abv. What more do you need? Aroma is light and feels like eating a loaf of bread.

Tasted at beerfestival. Pitch black and tan head. Really nice and powerful taste - if a bit alcohol-y. Taste is coffee, caramel, notes of licorice and an overall smokey goodness.
