COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: Brewed by Djævlebryg at Brøckhouse, Hillerød, Denmark.

Brewers note: This beer is NOT brewed as an American Pale Ale. It is not brewed to suit a certain style which is why we call it a "hoppy ale".

English: Both the British and Americans are good at using hops - in slightly different ways. We have combined the best from both traditions and created Schopenhauers Vilje ("Schopenhauer’s Will"), a beautiful amber coloured ale with a floral character, caramel notes and - like the philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer - a good portion of bitterness. This brew can be enjoyed on a hot summer’s day, a cool evening or accompanied by e.g. poultry dishes.

Bottle. Clear, golden beer with a nice, dense, off-white head. Malty nose with sweetness and some spicyness and maybe a bit low on hoppyness. There’s something minty there as well. Quite spiced flavor too, sweet and malty and a bit low on hops and bitterness I think. At least until the finish, which is long and piney, with a little spicyness at the start. Medium to full body with a little sticky feeling. A nice beer, not the typical pale ale. (071123)

Bottled. An amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma is very hoppy giving it notes of spices and some fruits. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of hops, spices, and some fruit, leading to a quite bitter finish. OK, but not great.

Fine orange unclear body with a decent white head. A lot of hops in the aroma and flavor. Mainly bitter ones. Herbal & flowery with a light caramel note. Very dry taste & end. Medium bodied.

Bottled. Thanks to ekstedt. Orange colour with good head. Flowery hoparoma with a tad earth. Medium, pale ale, hop flavour with low sweetness and pretty low bitterness. I am about to forget this one...THERE!
