COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: Brewed by Djævlebryg at Brøckhouse, Hillerød, Denmark.

Brewers note: This beer is NOT brewed as an American Pale Ale. It is not brewed to suit a certain style which is why we call it a "hoppy ale".

English: Both the British and Americans are good at using hops - in slightly different ways. We have combined the best from both traditions and created Schopenhauers Vilje ("Schopenhauer’s Will"), a beautiful amber coloured ale with a floral character, caramel notes and - like the philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer - a good portion of bitterness. This brew can be enjoyed on a hot summer’s day, a cool evening or accompanied by e.g. poultry dishes.

Bottle. Very nice looking beer, as it is being poured into the glass. Three finger thick fizzy beige head which mostly lasted. Good display of lacing in glass. Clear light sparkling body. Excellent smooth notes of grapefruit, pine, elder flower, hint of grass, some notes of caramel and liquorice. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation and a very smooth and slightly dry texture. Flavour was light bitter notes with good balancing sweetness. Finish was slightly sweet liquorice with a somewhat dry feel to it. In between the liquorice, some bitter notes can also be detected. Nicely done, a very drinkable beer in my book.
