COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: Brewed by Djævlebryg at Brøckhouse, Hillerød, Denmark.

Brewers note: This beer is NOT brewed as an American Pale Ale. It is not brewed to suit a certain style which is why we call it a "hoppy ale".

English: Both the British and Americans are good at using hops - in slightly different ways. We have combined the best from both traditions and created Schopenhauers Vilje ("Schopenhauer’s Will"), a beautiful amber coloured ale with a floral character, caramel notes and - like the philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer - a good portion of bitterness. This brew can be enjoyed on a hot summer’s day, a cool evening or accompanied by e.g. poultry dishes.

Bottle. Pours hazy golden with a large, thick off-white head. Pretty discrete aroma, caramel, grass and some hops. Caramel and toffee in the taste, some hops, medium bitterness.

@ Basunen: en mycket kryddig doft. Smaken är den samma tillsammans med trevlig humle. Fin beska och en god eftersmak. Mycket god. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sample at a tasting. It poured a light hazy golden liquid with a white head. Smell of freshly baked bread and a hint of hops. Similar taste. Fairly nice even though the flavours are a bit mild. Could have used a bit more hops.

Interesting and pretty drinkable. Nice malt backbone and little hop kick with spicy herbal hops. Interesting but not the best offering by the guys that brought you Gudelos!

Grapefruit, flowers, malts in the nose and mouth. Well balanced bitterness and serves. Cloudy amber colour with a nice light beige head. Long dry and sweet finish. Full body. Could drink more. Nice.

50cl bottle, thanks to onkelgobber. Pours cloudy amber with a thin layer of lace that hangs around. Nose of grapefruit, perhaps orange with pith on the end. Taste of more grapefruit, then sweetness, maybe apricot. Palate is balanced, sweetness on the end which balances the bitterness nicely. Great pale ale, heading towards a bitter slightly.

500ml bottle. Pours a medum/deep amber, with an off-white head. Fruity, rather hoppy aroma, grapefruit, caramel, passion fruit, apples, a lightly toasted chocolate note, orange peel, spruce. Off-dry, medium body, high bitterness, balanced CO2. Fruity, hoppy taste, quite solid malty backbone, caramel, grapefruit, yeast, herbs. Ends quite bitter, with a somewhat rough, yeasty finish. This pale ale has a slightly strange earthy taste, but it probably comes from the hops. Dark golden coulor with a fine white head. Hoppy aroma.

Tap @ Cockney Pub, Århus. Pours amber with a white head. Aroma of caramel, fruity and citrusslike hops. Taste is caramel, grapefruit, light pine. Medium body, soft carbonation. Nice easy drinking beer. 230110
