COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This special batch of our Prince Myshkin’s Russian Imperial Stout was aged for 11 months in oak barrels that once held Pinot Noir wine. In addition to the big chocolatey espresso like flavors typically found in our stout, the time in barrels added nuanced notes of vanilla, mocha and coconut. A slight herbal hoppiness and hint of alcohol burn round out the profile of this perfect winter tipple.

Bottle. Split with Vinnie, James, and Tom. Courtesy of Vinnie. Pours dark , deep opaque brown. with no lacing. Aroma of brandy, coconut, dark chocolate, soft savory cheese, and some pinot noir. Flavor is chocolate and very vinious, sour notes. Tart palate for an imperial stout. Tastes more like an Angel’s Share aged in Pinot Noir barrels. Great beer.

Bomber from Craft. Pours oily, thick, and jet black, with minimal head. Nose is heavy rich dark malt, cacao, oaky bourbon, molasses, anise, hazelnut. Tastes thick, rich, complex, with dark malt, cacao, and anise up front, mid-palate hazelnut, prune, port and a thick complex finish. This one is great. I didn’t like it quite as much as the regular version, but enjoyed it greatly.

Pours an inky black with almost no head. Lovely aroma of vanilla, coffee, toffee and cocoa. The taste is complex, featuring hops, carmel, coffee, malts, chocolate and vanilla all blending together exceedingly well. The palate is thinner than I would have liked but is exceedingly smooth and mild given the high alcohol content.
