The_Epeeist (871), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 7, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. Foggy brown with a trace of white head. Nose of candi, light funk and some citrus. Taste is honey, sweet spice and dough with a peppery aftertaste. Very soft for a BDG but quite good. JB175 (1260), Holland, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 6, 2008 On tap at Dock Street - Hazy golden-amber color with a nice looking head. Aroma is sweet, malty, biscuity, with a hint of summer fruit. Taste is crisp and malty with a subtle hop tingle - Some vinous/citrusy/biscuity/bready kinda stuff going on - very nice finish. Wonderful with food. I’m guessing this is similar to most of Scott Morrison’s other BDGs (I’ve only had the Dude de Garde and it was delicious). A wonderful example of the style and a very tasty brew.
