Pours pitch black with a creamy medium mocha head...looks thick. Aroma has notes of caramel, dark chocolate, and mild dark fruits. Flavor follows suit and adds a nice roasty/burnt note that is slightly bitter but not overkill. Mouthfeel is medium and the finish has a nice roasty dark chocolate/dark fruit finish that drys and lingers.

UPDATED: MAR 1, 2013 Was not expecting this to be as awesome as it is. Pitch black body, tight nocha foam, spotty lacing. Rich chocolate, assertive roast, nice oaky quality comes out in the flavor profile. Modest booze shines. A touch of dark fruits and brown sugar. Full bodied, silky smooth carbonation, light bitterness in the finish, balanced alcohol. Very nice.

On draft at Capone’s in Philadelphia.
The beer is nearly opaque and appears a deep, dark brown color with a thin beige head. The aroma brings heavy roast and dark chocolate. The flavor is rich and robust. The beer is full bodied and quite viscous. Carbonation is moderately low, and the beer is silky and smooth on the palate. The aftertaste brings a lot of barrel flavors. Overall, a tasty stout. Recommended.

Aroma of sweet coffee, chocolate and toffee. Pours black with tan lacing. Taste is super sweet with chocolate and slight alcohol burn. Finishes roasty with a great coffee coating throughout the mouth.

Aroma- dark fruits, chocolate, malt sweetness, spiciness
Appearance- fairly black, with a dark brown head, large bubbles, big alcohol presence
Taste- typical RIS qualities, some dark fruits, some spices, some funk
Palate- relatively full-bodied, higher carbonation
Overall- Interesting and drinkable, a better beer than I anticipated. It is relatively complex and unlike other RIS’s is some aspects.

On tap at Capone’s. Dark brown pour with some amber highlights. Smooth and chocolatey with not a whole lot else going on except a slightly fruity finish. Very chocolatey...almost akin to ST Choklat. Very good beer.
