jeremytoni (589), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Dec 1, 2007 From the tap poured hazy amber color with a lot of head. Nice hoppy flavor, bitter with hops. Lasting aftertaste.
bp (315), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 8, 2008 Draft: Wow. I’ve been missing out on this one. I live so damn close. This pours a nice dark brown-amber with a thin white head, aroma is hoppy with plenty of rye, taste is bitter but not overly so, pretty well balanced, with some rye and maybe a little citrus there, leaves a nice bitter finish, hard to drink more then two of these as they really dry me out. Good stuff!! Goodgrief (1055), Middletown, Delaware, USA Oct 5, 2008 KSBF 08 on tap. Wow, what a surprise from a brewer I was all but content to skip at the festival. Huge rye nose on this...the hops almost pinched my nostrils. Citrus sweet, really bitter and mouth puckering and a rye/grainy punch at the end. A real pleasant surprise. I’d drink this again. chimp_lechamp (372), freehold, New Jersey, USA Sep 28, 2008 on tap at johnny bs- pouirs brownnish amber with a large white head. nose is rye, bubblegm, spices, and hops. kind of strange. taste is well balanced, the hop bill pales in comparison to the hop devil and i think that may have screwed my taste buds for this tasting. the last drop was just as good as the first. and would make this a great session ale. dmtroyer (370), Harrisonburg, Virginia, USA Aug 14, 2008 Part of a sampler. Poured amber with a slightly off-white head. Aroma was very floral. Body was similar with an unmistakable rye complexity of dark spice. Very solid but possibly a tad overrated. can8ianben (641), Pasadena, California, USA Aug 14, 2008 IPA’s are usually my favorite style in a sampler platter, and this one was no exception. I appreciate that they are trying something unique with the addition of rye. Taste, aroma, and mouthfeel are all similar to other microbrew ipas. Hoppy and malty, sweet and bitter. Well done.
