4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20
UPDATED: SEP 11, 2011 Nice aroma from citrus/woody hops. a bit hazy, but all beers there are unfiltered. Has a great malt backbone, and great flavor from hops, Amarillo? Updated, the rye comes thru more now, and this beer is about as good as it gets for an IPA, perfect balance. Thanks "dude"
I had thought this beer had strayed a bit from greatness, but man it’s back! Fantastic, and it’s the best IPA in the area.

I really like rye IPA’s, more so than normal IPA’s; I find that the character of some hops emulates the aromatic profile of caraway seed, and I love the combination of caraway and rye. The hops in this don’t have as strong a caraway quality as some IPA’s do but the resemblance is strong enough that I sense the congruence and like it. Moderately dry, medium body. Doesn’t seem overly bitter to me in spite of the high IBU rating. Three of us ordered a beer sampler at Dock Street and this was one of the ones we all wanted to drink more of.
