Dock Street was giving out free samples at Iron Abbey in Horsham for Beer Week. Poured a dark amber with a white head that lingered. Caramel in the nose, bitter hops and rye in the taste. The best I’ve had in a little while.

The Rye IPA is a good beer if you are looking for a subtly hoppy IPA. It has a smooth and mellow flavor and yet has a slight spicy and hoppy kick.

Greaty hoppy aroma. Amber-golden in color. Great hoppiness in the flavor as well...not great descriptive notes but the numbers speak for themselves...an excellent beer!

16 oz. pour, on tap at Jet Rock Bar & Grill at the Philadelphia airport as I wait for my plane back home to MSP. Consumed on 2-10-12. Served colder than it should have been, but I did try to let it warm up to closer to cellar temperature. Pours a hazy, effervescent tan with a moderate amount of light taupe head. Good-looking beer. Floral smell features citrus, strawberry, and skittles scent. Pleasant aroma but a little too sweet. Flavor is malty-sweet with rye spice and a dry finish from the hops. Sweet, fruity flavor mirrors the aroma, but the rye spice and hops dryness are unique to the taste. Thick and silky in the palate. Excessive sweetness in both the aroma and the flavor drags the score down from something that otherwise could have been pretty high. The strong appearance and palate, on the other hand, serve to prop the score up. Dock Street Rye IPA is entertaining enough, but it could stand to be more complex and sophisticated.

Hazy amber color, thick white head, solid lacing. Aroma of grass, pine. Taste is tropical fruits and pind. Nice.

Draft @ Dock St. Glows orange/amber with a small white head. Spicy hops and rye make up the nose, with a bit of fruity ale yeast and sweet malt. Taste is caramel malt, rye, and spicy/citrus hops. Slightly watery mouthfeel. Kudos to Dock St. for making a rye beer one of their flagships.

Pours a medium brown with along hew. Nose is rye and barley with fruity notes. First sip is malt with a balance of rye and hops. Nice beer.

This was a nice, highly bitter rye ale. Brewed well and hazy yellow with a little head the aroma was of grass and hops.

Pours a copper color with a pine, grapefruit, and caramel aroma. Just a touch of rye in the flavor with grapefruit, caramel and resin rounding out the flavor. Decent beer.

Sampled at WCBF with brother bob. Ok this was a pretty good IPA the only thing it was missing was, the ingredients could have been blended a little better for a smoother finish. However, very good grassy flavor and good IPA.

A little bit of rye, not too much is in the background through out. The aroma is hoppy with pine and citrus. The flavor is very bitter yet very smooth. This one goes down real easy. Maybe a little too easy.
