COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A rustic, traditionally styled Saison, brewed as an homage to the classic Belgian Farmhouse Ale – Saison Dupont. Characterized by its earthy hop presence, fruity yeast notes, high carbonation, and bracing dryness. Brewed with pilsner and oat malts, with a touch of unmalted wheat, all Styrian Goldings hops, and then fermented with a special French Saison yeast grown up for us personally by Al Buck, a (relatively) local homebrewer. 40IBUs

Hazy orange-yellow pour, lots of carbonation and lacing. At first I felt it was really bitter in a way that I felt took away from some of the flavors. As I went along I got more of the fruity notes, spice and malt.

Draft at Dos Segundos Cantina. Pours a hazy pale golden yellow color with a half dinger white foam head that quickly settles into a thin lastig ring. Sporadic spots of lacing left behind. Earthy aroma with hints of bread/yeast, zesty spice and citrus peel. Lots of peppery clove and lemon peel as well as hints of apple and pear. Fuller bodies than expected with lots of bread/yeast flavor balanced out by sweet citrus fruit and a prominent spice character. There’s a blast of peppery cloe up front that lingers throughout into a crisp, dry finish. This is countered by the bread flavor as well as a prominent lemon juice/citrus peel character as well as subtle apple and pear. Crisp and refreshing but it’s a bit too heavy on the clove/spice for my liking. Edit: As I continued to finish the glass the clove presence became almost unbearable and an unpleasant alcohol flavor emerged.

Hazy golden pour light white head ... aroma of belgian fruity yeast and floral hops ..... tastes of fruity saison yeast and a dry earthy floral hop and a lemony zest ... pretty bitter mouthfeel with a bitter hop finish ... not bad if you want more of a floral hop and dry saison

Draught at Eulogy in Philly. Very unimpressive saison. Light. Some spice. Weak body. Not much of a saison. Tasted more like a mediocre Belgian Blonde.

Draught at TJ’s: Aroma of Belgian yeast, coriander, and pale malt. Poured yellow in color with a small, white head that diminished but lasted throughout as a film on top of the beer, as well as around the edges. Hazy. Slightly sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet and medium bitter. Tastes of hops, Belgian yeast, and coriander. Medium body. Dry texture. Average carbonation. Belgian yeast, noble hops, and coriander finish is dry.

Tap at Headhouse. Pours a hazed dull yellow orange with a thinning white head. Aroma is spicy, phenolic, almost a cinnamon covered orange peel, grass, clove, fruity tangerine like saison yeast with some light doughy cracker and somewhat dirty unrefined yeast notes with a hint of sulfur from fermentation. Flavor is doughy cracker with slight burnt toast, grass, orange peel, tangerine, spicy earthy hops with leather and dirt mixed with orange citrus and slight lemon tang on the finish but still a bit messy and unrefined- the european hops don’t mix all that well with a fruity citrus yeast character. Very spicy and almost cardamon and mace like at times which hurt the drinkability a bit, but overall it was still not bad. Interesting just a bit messy.

Tap at Craft Ale House. Pours a hazy yellow with a small bubbly white head. Aroma of some spicy and fruity Saison yeast notes, light bread and hints of European hops. Flavor of the same, but just kind of thin and not all that exciting.

[Draft @ CAH] Lightly hazy golden color with a small, white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of pils malt, toasted malts, citrus, and toffee. Taste of citrus, light spice, toast, and a dry finish, but watery overall.
