Big caramel, toffee and butterscotch malt (H); plums, dates, madeira, cask wood; floral hops (L). Deep plum-ruby body with no carbonation. Moderately sweet flavor becomes a moderately sweet, lightly bitter finish. Medium-full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. The bottom line is: two years of aging has brought a pleasant softness to this beer. Quite the sipping beer as it is much like an aged fine whisky.

Deep Ruby color. VERY thin. No complexity. Terrible, undrinkable. Real disappointment.

Ray was kind enough to seve me some of this stuff out of a growler before I left. Hops, grapes, and yeast in the nose. Flavor was very full and rich....came together very nicely and masked the 9.5% exquisitely. More balanced than the barleywine brewed 30 minutes up HWY 281 from Dodging Duck.

I had never had Barley wine until the Brewmiester handed me a taster. I was very impressed, being a port wine drinker, this was right up my alley. A bit strong on the palate ,but very complex. A true after dinner representation of the great beers brewed here...
