COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Too extreme to be called beer? Brewed to a colossal 45įP, boiled for a full 2 hours while being continually hopped with high alpha American hops, dry-hopped every day in the fermenter for a month, and aged for a month on whole leaf hops, 120 Minute IPA is by far the strongest IPA ever brewed. And at 21% ABV and 120 IBUís, you can see why we are calling this the Holy Grail for Hopheads. Editors note: ABV reduced down to 18% in 2009.

On-tap. A - Blazing burnt orange color with a decent sized, smooth, creamy white head. Pretty good retention but almost no lace. Surprising given the ABV. S - Sweet citrus and stone fruit. Caramel malt and some booziness. Pine hop aroma is also in there. Pretty fruity overall. T - Like the aroma, there is a good amount of citrus, tropical and stone fruit. Mango, apricot, peach, grapefruit and orange all in there. A touch of booze on the finish but not much given the ABV. Caramel malt is also fairly strong. Much more sweet than bitter, but bitterness does come out. M - Medium starting toward full body. Nice carbonation and has a smooth and slightly viscous feel. D - Even with the ABV it isnít too boozy. It is a little on the sweet side though. That said, given what this beer is, it is very drinkable. Notes: On tap at Beer Revolution. Not sure the year. It was surprisingly not to boozy and pretty easy to drink. Having had 90 Minute, I knew this would be sweet and it definitely was. Nice beer with plenty of sweet hopiness, but there is a touch of bitterness. Good, but I donít know if Iíd pay the price for a bottle.

Pours a cloudy golden orange with thin off white head. Has a honey, lemon, caramel, peach, and a slight alcohol aroma. Very sweet upfront into a light bitterness, and had a nice warming alcohol finish. Medium body that was oily and chewy on the palate. Still as enjoyable since the last time I had it.

Its everything advertised, a great example of the style. Shared a 12 oz bottle, thought it was clean, great flavor and mouth feel but really boozy and warm. Glad to have tried it.

This beer is ridiculous! With such a high ABV, it is surprisingly easy to drink. Nice on the palate, great aroma! If you can get your hands on one of these, don't pass up the opportunity. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a hazy orange with a medium white foamy head. Aroma was floral and citrus hops and tons of booze. Taste follows the nose well. This is a tough one to drink and overly boozey to me. Myself and two other did a 4 oz split on this and glad it was that way. Too strong to drink a whole one.

Aroma is very interesting. Deep fruits, spice, lemon. Honey, a little hop bitterness and pine. Plumbs, alcohol. Really can't tell the alcohol. Amazing beer. Glad to have tried it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Fresh. Pours a hazy orange, a shade lighter than copper, almost no head. Nose is tons of floral hops, citrus, a bit tropical, a bit of astringency from the alcohol. Taste is bursting with fruit flavor, juicy oranges, pineapple, sweet malt, almost no bitterness on the finish, there's a slow burn from the booze, warming like I took a shot. Has a kinda sticky mouthfeel. As I drink more it gets challenging to drink. The abv is so high it gets unpleasant after a while. I like the taste, the abv is its downfall to me. It's worth a try, but I can't drink more than half a glass.

All around a great beer. Yes it is a very high ABV but the beer does a great job of hiding this. You certainly get the burn of the alcohol but it's not enough to overpower the hoppy flavor of this beer. Mouthfeel is very smooth and almost sticks to your mouth. I love this beer. It's worth a try and it ages with the best of them.

Wow. Really smooth for an IPA. Great aftertaste. I really like the color. And on top of all of that, it's 18% ABV. I wish I had a bottle of this instead of just a glass.
