Too extreme to be called beer? Brewed to a colossal 45°P, boiled for a full 2 hours while being continually hopped with high alpha American hops, dry-hopped every day in the fermenter for a month, and aged for a month on whole leaf hops, 120 Minute IPA is by far the strongest IPA ever brewed. And at 21% ABV and 120 IBU’s, you can see why we are calling this the Holy Grail for Hopheads. Editors note: ABV reduced down to 18% in 2009.

Clear golden, no head. Quite malt forward, sugary sweet nose. Raisin. Booze. Some extremely concentrated resin. Fairly dramatic mix of bitterness, sweetness and alcohol, all equally present throughout. Very oily, heavy body. Long finish. Good.

Shared 12 oz. bottle. Pours copper-amber, hazy. White head. Aroma of citrus and caramel. Taste is a little citrus, a little caramel, and booze. Lots of booze. Sweet with an intense alcohol-laden finish. Definitely warms the belly. Nice to try but probably wouldn’t purchase again.

Absolutely fantastic IPA! Everything about this beer is perfection. The only exception is it is only available twice a year. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

After the 60 minute, I had to go the 120. Hard to describe as its so big and complex with malts, sweetness and bitterness all colliding in this beer from every angle. Its complex, rich but oh so delicious. Not for the faint hearted

TheCaptMatey (207) - Ohio, USA - SEP 22, 2016
Poured a hazy dark amber with a thin off white head. Aroma is a surprisingly sweet malty mix of honey, dark fruits, grassy and pine hops, and, of course, alcohol. Flavor is rich caramel, honey, and stone fruits with a bitter bite from grassy, citrus, and pine hops. This brew is a continually crosses the line between malt sweetness and bitter hops, while alcohol maintains its warm presence.

Gently-hazed late-sunset-gold pour with small head. Rich dried apricot and sweet malt nose, a bit of a chemical-y note that blurs into a soapy florality. Flavor starts piney and sweet, some herbaceousness, caramel, apricot and orange. Full, viscous body. A bit more on the barleywine side than an IPA. Headache-inducing, but different than expected.
