Haven’t really cared for Dogfish Head beer. Still felt the need to try this. Hazy copper color. Very little head. Malty alcohol aroma with a mild hop smell. Tastes pretty good actually. Not really an IPA flavor though. Much more like a barley wine. Lots of alcohol burn. Feels more like drinking liquor than beer. I’m glad I have someone to share with.

2 year old bottle pour. Brilliant. Caramel corn nose and initial taste. With 2 years on it this is a beautifully chewy barleywine-esque beer. Huge butter and toffee nose with a smooth and bitter finish. Outstanding.

Alcohol at a cocktail level--that’s what this is, more a cocktail than a beer--bufered by lemon & caramel in the aroma. flavors of powdered sugar, alcohol, peaches. instant warming. amazingly smooth. Been wanting to try this for decades--thanks Belmont Station.

On tap at Mekong, Richmond. Pours a slightly hazy golden with lasting head. Aroma is floral and complex. Booze, hop oil, and malt. Flavor is overpowering. Intense and complex, flowers, leather, booze and resin. Full bodied and dangerous.

Deep amber. Off white head. Plenty of lacing. Huge malty aroma with a citrusy orange aroma and tons of hops. Malty taste up front followed by hops and citrus. Finishes a little sweet and bitter.

Nice amber thin white head. Aroma alcohol apricots light hops. Taste alcohol hops malt orange peel. Thinner mouthfeel than expected. Overall impressive maybe not as a beer per-say but an experience.

Finished bottling a batch of Belgium Triple and the 4 of us sat down to enjoy some beers. Ended the evening with this bad boy. Everyone loved it, luckly I have 4 more stashed away. Not to many beers to compare it to at 18% especially for an iPA. Blows Avery’s 15% and 16% beers away. However Sam Adams Utopias at 27% is still my favorite with this being a solid 2nd.

Bottle 2014. Very hoppy,. A great IPA. The high ABV is hidden very well, but still present. Very sweet and carmel/piney. A great ale that must be tried by hop lovers.
