3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
<!-- B -->Bottle<!-- /B --> Pours a slightly hazy light orange/amber with only a slight fleeting head. No real lacing. Sugary carmel sweet aroma. Slightly alcohol fumy note as well. Flavor is a very strong alcohol fume sence and still a lot of sweetness. Cough syrupy and buttery. Hops sure, but I doníít think it can keep up with the very heavy feel and malt sweetness. Obviously the ABV is up there but I would not have guessed 21%. Glad I am sharing this one with two others.

0.355l bottle from 2007 shared with The Tasting Crew. What a lovely lovely aroma. So rich, concentrated and powerful! It looks like a really really hazy almost murky amber brown thing, lots of sediments and it has a small side sticking beige bubbly top. Smells more like a barley wine. Raisin, lots of juicy dates and sweet strawberries. Smells fantastic. It moat definitely has some carbonation this and itís thick and oily in the mouth. Super fruity in the taste. This is no double IPA, much more a barley wine. Lots of woody dryness. Dates and yellow raisins, and it hides the alcohol in a way that I never would have guessed. A flavor bomb! This is just Amazing. 09.10.2013

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottled Sep 2011
Well, tried this side by side with an í09 of the same time frame. They both poured crystal clearly amber with a finger of off white foam which fell quickly to an extreme clarity. Old smelled sweet. New smelled vegetal. Old tasted sweet. New tasted sweet and astringent with a weird soured grape and acetone flavor. Both were appropriately carbed with a thin, syrupy feel. Both were a disappointment.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12/14/13 $10.95!!! First bottle drank at Derry Roads 4th annual Christmas block party.
Poured a hazy copper color that kept a head on it until it was finished.
Very strong sweet smell with a boozy undertone. The taste is both extreme malty and hoppy with a sting undertone of booze. I'm assuming it was fresh (maybe 2 or 3 months old) but too sweet for my taste. Like the bottle says, it can be cellared for 10 years. I'd like to think over time, it would mellow out in both boozieness and sweetness

1.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
bottle aged in rotbox for 4+ years. fortunately the bootle notes that this 1 "AGES WELL".
Looks like swampwater dump sludge. pics are pics:
aroma of big huge sweet green raisins, cane sugar, boozy melon, sugared cola and pineapple. not too offensive, but not very inviting either.
taste: big sweet booze boost juice. leaves bitter boozy pineapple. not the most subtle of brews. rather, knocks one over the fucken head.
low marks on the budlight drinkability index. but booze more mellowed than expected. sticky mouthfeel. fine.
shelf turd status: unknown, scroll past
gross, but better than expected.

Bottle, 355ml - Clear amber beer with s large head. Aroma is fruity with notes of peaches, citrus, caramel, cactus fruit, pungent hops and pine needles. Flavor is fruity with notes of peaches, citrus, pineapple, caramel, oranges and alcohol. Wow, this is truly a DIPA in its rightful form.

3.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Fairly fresh from 7/26/1992, pours a rich copper color with a little head. So much smell: hops, boozy, somewhat floral. Taste is extremely bitter and has a tiny burn from the alcohol content. Definitely something I would drink without food and with a friend or two.
