4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Aroma is incredible, like opening a bag of hops. Has a cascade-like scent and some citrus - amarillo? Very nice. Nice golden-brown color, pretty clear, but touch of cloud. Taste is amazing. Sweet and viscous, complex. Bitterness rumbles around like it is lost in the thick sweetness and then bursts in the finish and aftertaste. I was expecting a rough hop bomb but this comes across as very refined and velvety. I love this beer and will buy it whenever I find it.

Too extreme to be called beer? Brewed to a colossal 45°P, boiled for a full 2 hours while being continually hopped with high alpha American hops, dry-hopped every day in the fermenter for a month, and aged for a month on whole leaf hops, 120 Minute IPA is by far the strongest IPA ever brewed. And at 21% ABV and 120 IBU’s, you can see why we are calling this the Holy Grail for Hopheads. Editors note: ABV reduced down to 18% in 2009.

Pours a golden orange with a medium white head. Aroma is citrus and tons of hops! You can smell the booze a bit. Taste is very booze forward but not overpowering considering the ABV level. Then comes a wave of hops. Not too bitter but very complex on the palate. Hard to pinpoint any one hop variety but one heck of a complex palate.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a hazy amber color with a moderate off-white head on it. The more I smell this beer, the boozier it gets to me, but I get some nice floral hoppiness with a hint of citrus as well. Taste is cloyingly sweet, and has an almost metallic taste to it. Really not an easy drink, and feels much more like an intense barley wine than an IIPA.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
bottle, aged for 18 months. Orange-amber colour. Citrusy-orange aroma. Sweet, syrupy, malty, boozy, creamy. Split my bottle with a friend, even that was enough. Nice sipping drink.

Brand spanking new and fresh.
Sappy, sweet, huge and intense. Complex deeply beautiful hop nose. Golden rich colour. An incredibly intense but balanced, beautiful intense achievement. Incredible. Piece by piece a thing of beauty but it’s still better than the sum of its parts.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
2011 Vintage. Poured into snifter, a honey gold amber with a razor thin off white head. Aroma upon pouring is sweet floral bouquet, honey and caramel malt notes, some brown sugar. Taste same as aroma, has a nice fruity, citrus orange alcohol flavor with a mild hops bite, which has undoubtedly been mellowed by the aging. Plate is a full creamy and smooth body, with good carbonation. The finish is a combination of all the aforementioned taste and flavor, although they intensify as it warms up, the ending is sweet with some light annotations of some vanilla and earthiness and actual bitterness intensifies a bit as well. alcohol seems to be well hidden. Almost barley wine style. Overall a very good, full flavored after dinner drink.

obviously strong. So hoppy you feel like you are sitting in a field of flowers. I am not a hop fan but for some reason I love this beer. This high level of alcohol is not overpowering in this very strong malty hoppy beer. I love it.

Pours beautifully and perfectly. Poured properly, a one and a half finger light beige head sits atop clear, classic golden liquid. Lightly scorched greens and citrus. Alcohol is noted in the nasal passages. Oily, obtrusive, and warm mouthfeel. Large flavor. A lot going on. Barleywine meets citrusy DIPA.
