COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Too extreme to be called beer? Brewed to a colossal 45įP, boiled for a full 2 hours while being continually hopped with high alpha American hops, dry-hopped every day in the fermenter for a month, and aged for a month on whole leaf hops, 120 Minute IPA is by far the strongest IPA ever brewed. And at 21% ABV and 120 IBUís, you can see why we are calling this the Holy Grail for Hopheads. Editors note: ABV reduced down to 18% in 2009.

Aroma is incredible, like opening a bag of hops. Has a cascade-like scent and some citrus - amarillo? Very nice. Nice golden-brown color, pretty clear, but touch of cloud. Taste is amazing. Sweet and viscous, complex. Bitterness rumbles around like it is lost in the thick sweetness and then bursts in the finish and aftertaste. I was expecting a rough hop bomb but this comes across as very refined and velvety. I love this beer and will buy it whenever I find it.

I love this beer. When drinking a beer I always compare it to this. This is the most complex IPA I have tasted. Very bold characteristics that will leave you wanting more.

Beer review # 1,000. On tap @ Yard House. Aroma smells more or less like a typical IPA. Notes of pines, herbs, fresh tangerine juice, fresh hops, peach skin as well as slight vanilla, oak, caramel and a ton of booze. Pours a darker golden appearance with a thick foam. Taste is immense with an immediate heavy hop bitterness, pines, hop leaves, hop resin, earth, dirt, dankness and dryness upfront. Immediately thereafter comes a seriously intense malt profile with dominating cough syrup, sweet wort, liquid malt extract syrup, sugared molasses, burnt wort sugar, maple syrup, candied caramel and honey. Finishes extremely dry with hop resin, tree bark, hop oils, hop juice, sugared apricot juice, tangerine juice, pines, herbs, spice and earth. Lots of noticeable metallic quality lingers through each phase. Overall, this is definitely not like any IPA Iíve ever had, let alone any beer Iíve ever had. It tastes like cramming hops and water into a blender and drinking it at the same time as sipping on pure liquid malt extract. Really insane stuff.

Served in a tulip glass. Beautiful orange color with an amazing foamy white head. A variety of aromas, from sweetened orange peel to crushed peppercorn, vanilla and anise. The taste is sweet caramel followed by swift bitterness which lingers on the palate.

2015 bottle. 6 oz pour from room-temp bottle unto a tulip glass. Deep orange and clear with a white mildly fizzy head with a green tinge. Nose is all hops. Super herbal with a little citrus underbeath. Pungent, a little mulchy/dirt, pine, moss. Dank, in a good way. Full body, creamy, a little sticky, thick. Taste-- wow. Similar to nose with some more fruity notes. Fairly sweet-- honey. A little floral. Strong booze underneath and in the finish. Not as overpowering as I expected. Very enjoyable.

The foam is more or less; nice and partially renewable. It has a good aroma hop mixed with a little citrus, and with my little knowledge, I guess American Amarillo hops. The taste is very vinous with distinct aromas of prune and apricot and a tang of citrus. Of course, it also has a great rich hop flavor, but not as hoppy as expected of an IPA. Despite the huge alcohol is this not very marked, apart from a good warm feeling. It is extremely tasty and a great surprise.

Perfect hop aroma, citrus pine and light fruits. Pours Amber color clear. Flavor is hoppy not to bitter but pretty sweet from excess caramelization. Overall great brew just sweetness from long boil is off for me.
