COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Too extreme to be called beer? Brewed to a colossal 45įP, boiled for a full 2 hours while being continually hopped with high alpha American hops, dry-hopped every day in the fermenter for a month, and aged for a month on whole leaf hops, 120 Minute IPA is by far the strongest IPA ever brewed. And at 21% ABV and 120 IBUís, you can see why we are calling this the Holy Grail for Hopheads. Editors note: ABV reduced down to 18% in 2009.

Tap 2011. Pours a beautiful golden with a small tan head. Aroma is sickeningly sweet malt which fights against a rather pleasant flowery, grapefruity hoppy nose. Mouthfeel is thick....like log cabin syrup thick. At 18%abv I suppose I should have seen this coming, what with all the residual malt sugars. The hops are lost a bit on account of the insane alcoholic/sweet taste. Then come the hops in the finish. Whatever joy these wonderful hops might have brought are crushed by what I can only compare as carbonated whiskey bite. All in all Iím glad I tried this but.....seriously....99/100?

July 28, 2015. Bottled February 17, 2014, tasting at jtclockworkís, thanks for sharing!
Light hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma is very sweet with toffee, resin, dried apricots, some mango, orange, herbal notes and warming alcohol. Taste is very sweet malty and fruity with caramel, notes of dried fruits, medium bitterness with some floral, herbal and pine notes. Warming alcohol finish with a herbal bitterness. Medium to full bodied, oily texture soft carbonation.
Very sweet and fruity, liqueur like.

Drank from a sampler glass, shared amongst friends. Drank extremely hot, as in unaged. Total hop bomb, gave this brew a mediocre rating due to the complexities that still existed amongst being heavily hopped.

Shared with my pals James and Trevor at Manantler Brewing. Not a ton of aroma but this beer goes down hot with plenty of boozy warmth. A bit of sweet bitterness at the end but not a ton of it. Doesnít really taste like any IPA Iíve ever had but it was damn good.

Itís a sipper. High ABV extremely recognizable. Thick, dense. Laces nicely when considering the fact it creates very minimal head on a pour. Iím happy to have gotten it for a taste and will rate it high as it is what it is.

Short pour at the yard house, Yonkers NY a few days ago. Not really that impressed. More of a strong ale booze bong than an impressive ipa. Iíve been waiting to land this for quite sometime, but itís over now. Ah, itís OK, but overpriced, over rated and not that good. Doest drink anything like an ipa.

I do not wax on poetically about beer but I do know the quality of a beer once tasted. This review is not about my tastes but reinforces the numbers, which are arbitrary.

Definitely a delicious beer. This is one of the beer clubs member's favorite beers. He was kind enough to share this special beer from his cellar. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a light amber with little head. Smells of citrus; orange and lemon come through. Also pine. Taste is incredibly sweet hops come in at the end but it doesnít mesh. Feels syrupy. Surprisingly little alcohol burn for the abv. All in all itís an interesting gimmick but a mediocre beer.

bottle shared by a friend. poured a deep golden to light orange colour with a non lasting white head. nose of sweet caramel malts, dried apricots, peaches, bitter peel, citrus, almost like a barley wine. citrus tasate with dry pine needles. cooked hops, bitter resinous notes, sweet thick aftertaste. interesting, but a bit to much,
