COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Too extreme to be called beer? Brewed to a colossal 45°P, boiled for a full 2 hours while being continually hopped with high alpha American hops, dry-hopped every day in the fermenter for a month, and aged for a month on whole leaf hops, 120 Minute IPA is by far the strongest IPA ever brewed. And at 21% ABV and 120 IBU’s, you can see why we are calling this the Holy Grail for Hopheads. Editors note: ABV reduced down to 18% in 2009.

Clear orange beer, no head. Arome: fruity, sweet, caramel, some alcohol, soapy touch, bit sugary. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet start, caramel, malty, alcohol, pretty bitter, more alcohol. Aftertaste: funky, lots of alcohol, very bitter, resinous, some citrus, more alcohol.

2015 bottle. 6 oz pour from room-temp bottle unto a tulip glass. Deep orange and clear with a white mildly fizzy head with a green tinge. Nose is all hops. Super herbal with a little citrus underbeath. Pungent, a little mulchy/dirt, pine, moss. Dank, in a good way. Full body, creamy, a little sticky, thick. Taste-- wow. Similar to nose with some more fruity notes. Fairly sweet-- honey. A little floral. Strong booze underneath and in the finish. Not as overpowering as I expected. Very enjoyable.

The foam is more or less; nice and partially renewable. It has a good aroma hop mixed with a little citrus, and with my little knowledge, I guess American Amarillo hops. The taste is very vinous with distinct aromas of prune and apricot and a tang of citrus. Of course, it also has a great rich hop flavor, but not as hoppy as expected of an IPA. Despite the huge alcohol is this not very marked, apart from a good warm feeling. It is extremely tasty and a great surprise.

Perfect hop aroma, citrus pine and light fruits. Pours Amber color clear. Flavor is hoppy not to bitter but pretty sweet from excess caramelization. Overall great brew just sweetness from long boil is off for me.

Clear golden. Smells and tastes like nail polish remover. A little sweet. Not enough flavor to cover up alcohol taste. Smooth texture though with no aftertaste.

I let this sit in the refrigerator for a month before I broke down and popped the top. First impression; this is a boiler maker taken to the next level. The sweetness is complex ,a mix of dried fruit, honey and maple syrup. Zero citrus which would have been a disaster. The120 IBU stands up to the sweetness but this concoction is no hop bomb . Whiskey from nose to the bottom of the glass. A great experience but overpriced at $13.00 bottle and I prefer Burton Baton from DFH.

Aroma is roasty, with a hint of nuts and toast, nice resin and citrus forward. Appearance is amber and cloudy with a frothy, 1 inch tan foam. Taste is of medium sweetness, medium bitterness, medium sourness, seriously hits umami on all ponts. Texture is creamy, carbonation is lively, bitter. This beer has a long finish, with lingering bitterness that eventually gives way to a sweet malty ending. Lives up to the hype.
