3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
I had this one aged for almost a year and a half. It was a Feb/2012 bottle. I poured it into a Dogfish Signature glass. Poured golden with one finger of white head. The initial taste was bitterness with a a strong carmel sweetness on the back end. The extreme ABV was extremely well hidden. I really enjoyed this one and would like to try both a fresh bottle and one with a bit more age on it.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On draft. Aroma is very malty, mango, orange and hops. Taste is very malty. Medicinal like. Alcohol is present but sweet maltiness calms it down. Still hard to sip on even after 5 years of drinking ipaís.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours orangish-caramel in color, opaque with some small flecks in suspension. Rich citrusy hop aroma, almost like a grapefruit marmalade. Velvety mouthfeel, about as full-bodied as you can get. Has some serious legs if you swirl the glass. Thereís a lot of alcohol in the middle, but surprisingly little burn on the finish---Iíve had things with far more alcohol burn which have half the ABV this does. It is brilliantly warming, and just a joy to drink... though one should not expect to do anything afterward.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a clear gold color with no lacing or head retention due to the 18%abv. Smells of pine floor cleaner.....not so attractive. This does taste good though. Tastes of lemon and alcohol. Finishes quite warm in the stomach.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
I think it is awesome a beer like this exists. My favorite IPAs register citrus, resin, and pine; hailing from the Northwest where the beer tastes like you sucked it through a ten foot Doug Fir 2 by 4. This beer was syrupy sweet with raisin flavor that reminded me of an old school fruitcake. The real problem with reviewing this beer is after 6 ounces my judgement is most certainly impaired. Give it another star for that.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tasted at Brew Brothers on draft, tulip glass. Excellent aroma. Surprisingly smooth with an ABV near 20%. Much better than the 90 minute, but still prefer the drink ability of the 60.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle shared by KyotoLefty. Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA 20% a blood red malty pour. The nose is rich malty dark fruits - nice. The taste is malty sweet, a bit of citrus sweet zestiness with a crisp refreshing flavor. Very good stuff.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
As should be apparent, this is one of those extreme beers that shouldn't be expected to maintain any sort of proportion in it's flavor profile - thus the Dogfish Head 120 IPA meets expectations in providing a ridiculously hoppy and high ABV brew that should be sampled as an exotic delicacy. Pours a nice shimmery copper orange color both on draft and from the bottle, but seemed unappetizingly devoid of any head or foam of any sort. Aroma of pacific hoppy resin and some malt, and a whiff of straight alcohol. Taste hits you in three stages in my experience: first the bitter resin hoppiness, then a bold caramel maltiness, and then a grainy alcoholic finish. The hoppiness was enlivening and the maltiness was rich and tasty, but the harsh vodka-like finish ended everything on an unpleasant note. Intriguing, but I would not drink it again. At least now I can say I've had arguably the most alcoholic craft beer in the world.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20
Had a chance to taste this several years ago, but, it unfortunately went unmemorialized.
Poured from 12 oz. bottle into snifter. Deep orangish, golden body with a thin head and beautiful lacework. Aromas of a sweet floral bouquet and fresh hay. Golden, flaky, herbaceous biscuits doused in honey.
Strong citrus, sweet mango, juicy white grapes, and peach flavors. This is a hoppy caramel infused high-octane nectar of the gods. Layer after layer of hop-filled delight where complexities abound.
Steady streams of northbound carbonation. Resinous mouthfeel that leaves a slightly numbing sensation. Alcohol is even more pronounced as it warms.
Paramount IPA that all hop lovers need to get their hands on.
