Too extreme to be called beer? Brewed to a colossal 45įP, boiled for a full 2 hours while being continually hopped with high alpha American hops, dry-hopped every day in the fermenter for a month, and aged for a month on whole leaf hops, 120 Minute IPA is by far the strongest IPA ever brewed. And at 21% ABV and 120 IBUís, you can see why we are calling this the Holy Grail for Hopheads. Editors note: ABV reduced down to 18% in 2009.

At last this beer comes to the same state as me. Iíve been searching for it for ages and it finally comes to a bar 15 minutes away from my work... On a Thursday... Starting at 1pm... Well Iím not man enough to leave work at 1 but I leave a little early to try and get it and got it I did. Disappointed I am not. It doesnít have that great of an aroma, it smells a little citrusy, hoppy, and sugary, but itís all very faint. Itís a very nice clear golden amber color. Very small head but it laces well. It tastes really great. Grapefruity, citrusy, and I donít really know what else but itís good and unique. I donít feel like Iíve ever had a beer that tasted similar to this. It tastes real thick too which is crazy. Kind of like the thickness of a good stout but the rest of it is redonk IPA. Itís also alcoholic as shit, but you canít taste it at all. I think Iíve had about 1/8 of the 10oz glass and that equates to about 2 and a half two hearteds worth of drunkenness. Also Iíve never smoked weed but Iíve heard of weed smokers talking about mind or body highs. Well in my couple of sips I think this beer is giving me a real mind drunk. My mind seems pretty drunk but my body doesnít seem weird at all. It kind of reminds me of drinking absinthe. Anyways this is a great beer and Iíd go through whatever it takes to drink it again and my food just got here so this review is DONE!

All around a great beer. Yes it is a very high ABV but the beer does a great job of hiding this. You certainly get the burn of the alcohol but it's not enough to overpower the hoppy flavor of this beer. Mouthfeel is very smooth and almost sticks to your mouth. I love this beer. It's worth a try and it ages with the best of them.

Wow. Really smooth for an IPA. Great aftertaste. I really like the color. And on top of all of that, it's 18% ABV. I wish I had a bottle of this instead of just a glass.

Bottle. Cloudy golden yellow pour. Thick and boozy IPA, huge aroma and flavour with a boozy heat. Tropical fruit, caramel, citrus, mostly sweet with some hop bitterness. Wow, tons of flavour.

On draft at The Ale and The Witch, strong sweetness on the nose, much smoother on draft, taste is candy sweetness balanced by an insane hop bitterness ending with warm alcohol notes and citrus rind. Good stuff, but a 5oz pour is plenty.

Had this fresh from bottle. Very pleasant aromas of peach and tropical fruits. Appearance is orange with a frothy long-lasting head. Taste is malty sweetness and caramel with some alcohol harshness on the finish. Perhaps best aged first!

Muddled hop aroma with a caramel candy malt aroma. Appearance is a hazy gold with a small white head with below average retention for an ipa. Flavor is a blend of malt and hops. Malt has flavors of toast and caramel. Hop flavor is a muddled. Bitterness is high. The high alcohol level is apparent and hot due to the high level of fusel alcohols. Mouthfeel is medium with medium low carbonation. Overall, it tastes more like an American barleywine than an IPA. For 18% abv it tastes decent but the high level of fusel and the muddled hop aroma/flavor detract from the beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a beautiful golden amber with a pillowy white head that reduces to a bubbly film in a couple minutes. Plenty of sticky lacing. Nose is surprisingly malty with fruity notes; some peach. Taste is quite well-balanced. The sweetness, from alcohol sugars I assume, balance out the bitterness of the colossal hop content amazingly well. Only slightly boozy. Full body, thick and rich. Moderate carbonation. This drinks more like a hoppy liquor than a beer. Delightful! Iím a huge fan!

Bottle. Pours clear orange with white head. Aroma is very hot, fresh grains, floral, resin, spruce. Taste is sweet, very hot, lots of ethanol, vanilla. Overall, this is a very fresh vintage and it definitely needs to age out quite a bit.

UPDATED: NOV 5, 2014 So massive yet so balanced. I had this as fresh as possible the aroma screamed dank pine hops and booze. Hops alcohol and a touch of malt that lends that raisiny fruitcake characteristic to the dogfish IPA beers that I donít care for. That being said this is an incredible accomplishment of an IPA, for the price its nice to have but then find yourself some green flash green bullet.

12 oz. bottle pours a slightly hazy orange/copper color with small white head that leaves some lacing. Aroma is not strong, but complex, alternating between floral and fruity hops, and some caramel candy. Taste is much sweeter than I expected, with bitterness only in the finish. The alcohol warming is not as obvious as I would have expected for 18%, but itís there. Body is full with average carbonation and an oily mouthfeel. A very memorable IIPA, but perhaps not quite up to the hype heightened by its scarce availability.
