Too extreme to be called beer? Brewed to a colossal 45°P, boiled for a full 2 hours while being continually hopped with high alpha American hops, dry-hopped every day in the fermenter for a month, and aged for a month on whole leaf hops, 120 Minute IPA is by far the strongest IPA ever brewed. And at 21% ABV and 120 IBU’s, you can see why we are calling this the Holy Grail for Hopheads. Editors note: ABV reduced down to 18% in 2009.

Pours a light amber with slight white head. Aroma is just like putting your nose in a bag of fresh hops! Has notes of strong citrus (grapefruit, orange, mango) and pine as well as a significant malt presence. The alcohol is noticable and hot, but not harsh. There are also some spicy notes (black pepper and cardamom along with some mint). Finishes remarkably dry despite the alcohol content. Not excessively bitter, but truly the hoppiest beer I have ever had!

Bottle aged 3 years by redpooba. Awesome caramel aroma with bitter notes and strong alcohol. Pours golden brown. Sweet caramel flavour with grape, plumb, hops and strong alcohol. So smooth.

Appearance is hazy amber with a medium white head. Aroma is strongly alcohol. Taste is some bitter hops and hints of spice, but also strong on the alcohol. Overall reminds me more of a Belgian.

This was a pleasant surprise, as the 90 Minute sometimes seems a little heavy for my taste. I loved the balance and mouthfeel of this beer. If only the price wasn’t so high!

12oz bottle poured into a sampler. The aroma is a bright, warm orange blossom floral note with just a slight rubbing alcohol hint, and some undertones of clove, as well as late, a warm caramel hint. The beer is a hazy orange, with a fuzzy, even, off-white head that has a decent retention. The taste is a beautifully balanced medium high bitter and sweet - both aspects do a good job of countering and complimenting each other. The beer is slick and smooth, with a creamy and fuzzy carbonation. The full body includes notes of caramel, sweet citrus, and clove honey that finishes with a bourbon-like clove and wood character. The aftertaste is quite clean and crisp with an astringent character and hints of grass, pine, and bourbon caramel.

Poured into a tulip from 12 oz bottle....a nice hazy, thick golden orange with a minimal head. I smell sweet biscuity malts, fruity hops with notes of orange, peach and citrus rind. First taste is huge...full of big layered hops, balanced malts and a boozy background. Nice bitterness. Candy malts. Gigantic ABV. Over the top.

March Madness 2015.This "beer" is best described as a fine wine. And among wines I would compare it to a port. Very nice complex flavor. Very smooth buttery flavor. If you can afford it, it’s an awesome enjoyment.

Rating one from my stash; this one has been aging since 2008. One of my favorite beers. Smooth, malty....but this is one where I can only have one, and sharing a bottle with a good friend is actually the best.

Very nice citrus hop aroma. Flavor is the same with a ton of malt and noticeable alcohol. A bit sticky palate but not terrible. Fairly sweet finish. A bit over the top, but has a ton of great flavors. Would drink again. Actually more enjoyable than I expected. Would drink again on occasion. Way more malty than hoppy. Expected a super hop bomb, but it is a malt bomb well balanced by citrus hops. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Old rating. 21% ABV bottle from Old Town. Pours a hazy brownish amber color with big soapy off-white head. Raison, fig, marmalade, pine needles and resin aromas present. Taste is fairly malt forward with hops leaning more toward the piney resiny side. Hides the alcohol amazingly well until it starts to warm up. Nice warming boozy finish.

Bottle. Aroma of hoppy resin. Surprisingly no booze in the aroma. Surprisingly smooth taste. Sweet taste of raisin, resin, and pine. Very little bitterness, warm boozy finish. Nice.
