3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
2012 vintage. 12 oz. bottle served in a snifter. Poured a hazy gold with a finger of white head that quickly dissipated. Big piney hop aroma. Flavor started off with a nice hit of hop bitterness. Finish was very sweet. Lots of malt and full bodied. Not as boozy as I would have expected. Glad I got to try it, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to get it again.

At the brewery. Too heavy for an IPA. Makes for a nice barley wine. Sipping only.

3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Finally got to taste this legend at BeerTemple in Amsterdam (where it is as heavily priced as it is hopped). Lightly lacing, stable, off-white, moussy head on a deep orange golden beer with no visible fizz. Evidently strong aroma of Grand Marnier, marmelade, mango, whisky, nail polish, methylated spirit, strawberry wine, candied banana - alcohol overpowering the hops but enhancing their orange-like qualities at the same time. Intense flavor of strong candied orange and orange liqueur, some underlying sourishness but sweetness dominating, thick oily mouthfeel, soft carbo, honeyish and biscuity malt sweetness, long finish with a lot of peppery and orangey hop bitterness but still it is the liqueurish sweetness which prevails, along with a hefty dosis of intense, burning, peppery, brandy-like alcohol. I don’t get this, I liked the 90 Minute a lot, but this to me is just over the top, way too boozy to be enjoyable at least to my personal taste. Glad I had it, though.

Bottle. Orange pour with white head. Huge boozy, orange, grassy and crazy hop aromas. Flavors are tough, boozy, herbal, orange hop notes. Can’t believe I’ve never put in this rating.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
No needs for introductions -- I think most people know this one. Ludicrously boozy, insanely rich, and with an IBU count that’s purely theoretical this one earns its reputation. I’ve never been so happy to split a 12oz bottle with 4 people.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. VERY boozy aroma. Obviously hoppy. Dark amber color, with no head. Very boozy flavor, thick viscous body. Bitter, but not what I would call hoppy. Not my favorite, but interesting.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at The Beer Market at College Town. Orange/gold pour with a medium white head. Aroma is of caramel, alcohol some citrus & tropical fruits. Taste some alcohol in the finish but it does not take away from the complex flavor. There is a hint of spice in the taste as well.

July 28, 2015. Bottled February 17, 2014, tasting at jtclockwork’s, thanks for sharing!
Light hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma is very sweet with toffee, resin, dried apricots, some mango, orange, herbal notes and warming alcohol. Taste is very sweet malty and fruity with caramel, notes of dried fruits, medium bitterness with some floral, herbal and pine notes. Warming alcohol finish with a herbal bitterness. Medium to full bodied, oily texture soft carbonation.
Very sweet and fruity, liqueur like.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 15/20
Drank from a sampler glass, shared amongst friends. Drank extremely hot, as in unaged. Total hop bomb, gave this brew a mediocre rating due to the complexities that still existed amongst being heavily hopped.
