COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Too extreme to be called beer? Brewed to a colossal 45įP, boiled for a full 2 hours while being continually hopped with high alpha American hops, dry-hopped every day in the fermenter for a month, and aged for a month on whole leaf hops, 120 Minute IPA is by far the strongest IPA ever brewed. And at 21% ABV and 120 IBUís, you can see why we are calling this the Holy Grail for Hopheads. Editors note: ABV reduced down to 18% in 2009.

5/1/09 bottle to snifter. Glowing dark amber honey color with a spotty white head. Delightfully sweet aroma of almond, white grape juice, and agave. Sweet and syrupy in the mouth. Reminds me more of a dessert wine now than a highly hopped beer. I may never drink 120 Minute IPA fresh again.

Draught @ Malt and Mold. Slightly cloudy dark orange with small foamy beige head, orange peel aroma, sweetish orange peel taste, medium carbonation, long bitter finish with alcohol aftertaste. Very strong but smooth.

Ok so o get that it's a 21% Abv . But it loses flavor with a slight burn that replaces that full hop flavor I'm looking for. I think they need to pull back the ABV and bring out the taste ! I appreciate the effort but too chemically for me ! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap @ HO1K Beers. Pours a dirty straw color with very little foam. Light pine aroma with a hint of citrus. Alcohol masks the flavors. Has a malty, syrupy taste. Not much citrus or pine flavors. Way too much alcohol interference to be refreshing or enjoyable.

Extremely rich and potent, orange marmalade, alcohol, caramel and butterscotch, resinous and light grapefruit. Amber colour, medium off-white head, good amount of lacing. Heavy sweetness, big bite that is softened by the alcohol, pine, boozy, very warming. Fullbodied, soft carbonation, bitter and boozy finish. Been yearning to try this for at least 8 years.

Pours a hazy dark orange color into a dogfish head glass. Vintage 2/2014. Itís very intense but not very lasting aftertaste. Alcohol is very present with a burning alcohol feel. Sweetness almost detracts from all the nice hops that have matured in this bottle. Itís on the fence between being a triple IPA and a barleywine. Very good but sweet.

Finally found this one! Heard the stories. It pours golden and cloudy. Has a strong smell to let you know the alcohol content is there. Drinks less strong than the content dictates. Taste doughy and toffee as have heard. Not my favorite but had to try it. Alcohol is too high and hoppy goodness is gone or canít shine thru.

12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy dark amber with moderate head. Aromas of toffee, doughy bread, and wet toasted malts with a little spice hanging around. Flavours follow same - big chewy malts - with peppery alcohol and spicy fruit. Hoppy? I donít know... 18%? Jesus....

For such an outrageous beer, I have to give Dogfish Head credit for making this as drinkable and tasty as it is. Very happy I finally got to try it! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I have enjoyed pretty much every dogfish beer I have had but I just really don't understand aging an IPA. This beer leaves me with all the flavors of an IPA I dislike and removes all the hops and flavors I enjoy.

Iíve had this on tap and in bottle. Probably one of my favorite of the high abv beers. Doesnít really pass off as an ipa, itís smooth and sweet with little bite. Mix this with world wide stout for an awesome black and tan.
