DeadGuyPerez (29), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 12, 2009 Very floral and hoppy as far as aroma and taste are concerned. Some fruity notes, and a bitter hop finish.
Haven’t had an IPA before, but I enjoyed this one. I prefer it to other DFH offerings I’ve tried. beernovice39 (240), South Carolina, USA Aug 12, 2009 My first try from DFH. Nice beer but I don’t get the lovefest. For the price there are way better IPAs. I have two more to try maybe I will like something else by DFH. greig (169), Hamilton, New Zealand Aug 12, 2009 What an interesting beer. I’m not sure whether what I’m tasting (serious spicyness) has to do with the continuous hopping process or whether this beer just hasn’t aged/travelled well. Either way, it’s tasty, but I’m not sure it’s what it is supposed to taste like. Lots of malt going on here, and the hops make themselves known in the burps mainly! I’ll look for it fresh in the USA. cprochak (388), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 12, 2009 On tap at Cavanaugh’s 8/11/09. Pours a dark gold, touch of amber, little bit of cream head. Citrus hops dominate, with very little earthy pine aroma. LIight bodied, very drinkable and nice action in the mouth. Great bitterness that finishes well, but not too long. Exactly what I hope for out of a straight up IPA. yalnikim (776), Wellington, New Zealand Aug 8, 2009 Tasted 09/08/2009. Beerstore.co.nz. Five months since bottling. Jellied fruit and spice. Fairly fat in the malt department. Certainly tastes like it would sessionable if it were younger and fresher. Still a good drop, just a little tired. jfenglish (198), Chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 7, 2009 Bottle. Very nice aroma of grapefruit and citrus. Fresh, fluffy head. Much lighter in color than expected. Taste is very light, but nice hop balance. I’m very impressed with how a beer with such a light body (delicate even) can hold the hop flavors so well. The hops aren’t overwhelming (which is what I prefer- i.e., don’t need a hop bomb), and yet pairs nicely with the slightly sweet malt. Finish is clean. Very well done. Subtlety abounds. Jordiam (70), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Aug 3, 2009 Here’s my review: hops hops hops hops hops...etc. Straight up hoppy beer, pours nice and has a good mouthfeel. Even though it’s a heavy hop aroma and taste, it still sits well in my stomache. Smells like a hop plant, tastes super bitter, hoppy, and light citrus oil. IPA’s are not my thing, but I enjoyed this one for sure.
