Jordiam (70), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Aug 3, 2009 Here’s my review: hops hops hops hops hops...etc. Straight up hoppy beer, pours nice and has a good mouthfeel. Even though it’s a heavy hop aroma and taste, it still sits well in my stomache. Smells like a hop plant, tastes super bitter, hoppy, and light citrus oil. IPA’s are not my thing, but I enjoyed this one for sure. brewski519 (395), Morrisville, North Carolina, USA Aug 3, 2009 From a 12oz bottle this gem pours a golden color with a frothy head. Plenty of lacing. Aroma is citrus, wood, pine and lots of floral hops. Great taste of everything you would expect from the aroma - lots of floral hoppiness and grapefruit with subtle pine aftertastes. Superb IPA that won’t let you down. noncaloric (602), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Aug 2, 2009 Pours a light amber with a large, very open off-white head, decent lacing. Aroma primarily pale malts with a significant coniferous hops presence playing a supporting role. Flavor-wise, could pass for a particularly hoppy British IPA. Very bready malt profile with significant hops bitterness up front. Hops aromatics, more piney than citrus, develop over the course of the swallow. Crusty finish. Lively on the palate, mixed warming sensation from alcohol and hops. In my book, it doesn’t have quite enough hops aromatics to balance the amount of bittering hops it uses, but it is a fine example of what it is. rhinobrau (17), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Aug 2, 2009 Nice aroma up front followed by a nicely balanced hit of malt and hops. More like an English IPA than an American (west coast) IPA. Very drinkable w/o killing your palate. IPA’s aren’t session beers but this one comes close. You could drink a lot of this. nate2g (1034), Brisbane, Australia Aug 1, 2009 Bottle. Pours dark golden with a medium white head. Huge pine hop aroma with orange, apricot and more hops. The flavour is pine needles, orange, apricot and crystal malt. Prickly mouthfeel and for all the IBU’s it’s surprisingly quite ’smooth’ to drink. More piney bitterness in the finish. A delicious IPA, would of loved to have tried some more. 13mikey (119), New Hope, Minnesota, USA Aug 1, 2009 Thin frothy head, not much aroma outside slight hops scent. Nice bitter hoppy taste with no detection of citrus or floral notes. Lingering bitter finish, in a good way. HoppyAlesToYou (24), , Indiana, USA Jul 31, 2009 Aroma : Citrus and floral.
Appearance : Sparkling orange, with a frothy, white foam head.
Flavor : Pleasant hop and malt balance, not nearly overbearing.
Palate : Despite the somewhat effervescent appearance, this beer has an almost creamy feel in mouth, a welcomed surprise.
Overall : Very good beer, an excellent choice for pairing with food as it stands up to strong flavors. drseusszb200 (187), Florida, USA Jul 27, 2009 poured clean and golden with a nice white head that faded to give good lacing. smelled of hops, citrus, and a bit of pine. tasted of hops and citrus with a clean after taste. not as hoppy as i remember when first trying it. also good on draft not good out of bottle.
