mspindler (301), Alta Loma, California, USA May 18, 2009 12 oz. bottle enjoyed while homebrewing. Pours a hazy golden orange with a thick white head. Aroma is sweet citrus and pine with a decent amount of bready malt. Flavor is oranges and pine, an almost nutty caramel/toffee maltiness, and a dry finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Bukowski9 (89), Piqua, Ohio, USA May 17, 2009 Sample @ Bock&Rock. This was one I had after quite a few samples and my notes were getting a little unlegible.Grassy hop aroma,yellow\amber color with a good white head.Lemony citrus flavor and was easy to drink. Not bad. probstk (1005), Nepean, Ontario, Canada May 17, 2009 355 ml bottle from LCBO, served cold in a tulip glass.
App.: Slightly hazy orange-golden with a fair off-white froth.
Aroma: A delicious, juicy ode to hops – grapefruit, marmalade, orange, pine, slightly earthy, caramel and toffee malts provide support for the hop aromas.
Palate: Medium body, medium carbonation, lightly astringent.
Flav.: Much like the nose, lots of fruity hops, plenty of sweet malts, some light earthiness, some resin, rye bread crust; off-dry with nice bitterness and a slightly dusty hop/toffee finish.
I’ve finally managed to rate this stuff after about 3 6-packs. I just love drinking it! ajm (901), Los Angeles, California, USA May 17, 2009 Tap at Pap. Nose is a sharp hoppiness like one would expect; flavor is absurdly green like a twig that won’t snap. Really unripe, really tartly bitter. Ungood. astrivian (16), Colorado, USA May 16, 2009 This is a good IPA with a woodsey character to it. It stands out with its unique aroma of hops. I like it but it ties with Stone to me. Nail (11), Georgia, USA May 15, 2009 While this is indeed a good beer, I feel the 60 Minute is a bit over rated, and I tend to rate higher than most members. I buy and enjoy this beer, but generally prefer the beers from Bells Brewery. bierslaaf (33), Cape Town, South Africa May 13, 2009 Poured from bottle. Golden very clear with almost no head disappearing immidiately. Lots of hops in the aroma. Not as bitter as I expected and comlex hop aroma almost reminiscent of liquorice and wild west coast (of SA aka fynbos) flowers. Long hoppy finish. A remarkable beer. alexchafe (29), , Newfoundland, Canada May 13, 2009 From a bottle. Nice orange-yellow with slow rising low carbonation. Generous white frothy head produces decent lacing. The aroma is very spicey, herby, grassy. there’s loads of quality hops in here. The flavour continues to deliver with more spices and herbs, sweet lemon citrus, with a suprising grapefruity backend that mixed extremely well with the bitterness. There are touches of caramel and honey in there. It’s complex! Very smooth palate, with slight fizz beside the bitter hops, biting at your tongue and cheeks.
