KingofCastle (202), London, Ontario, Canada Apr 5, 2009 bottle: I know this beer has quality and I bet the ingredients are high quality and yes it is a fine IPA and all, but a minor criticism here. Knock down this to 5.2 or 5% and you have the makings of an unparalled beer. As good as the malts are and the hops are just a little less alcohol would smooth this baby out into classic. IPA’s are so hard to get right. I will take a Fullers or Old Speckled Hen anytime over an IPA because their flavours round out into smooth drinkability. sigma23 (217), , Maine, USA Apr 5, 2009 pours dark golden/amber with small white head. aromas of floral hops and citrus. drinks with a bitter bite up front but then smooths out and finishes bitter sweet from a nice malt back bone. bitter after taste lingers from drink to drink almost making you want another drink. very well done speedywinger (27), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Apr 2, 2009 Bottle from the LCBO. LIght amber color with medium white head. Nice lacing. Aroma is floral and hoppy! with some grapefruit. First sip is dominated by hops but then there is a nice balance of malts that comes in. Well balanced for the amount of hops. Then a bitter aftertaste. Overall a great beer. shawnm213 (884), South Bend, Indiana, USA Mar 29, 2009 citrisy, hoppy. 90 minute tastes sweeter. I was happy with this beer, but was expecting a little more flavor. Not bad if you want to drink a six pack. TKA300 (99), Carbondale, Illinois, USA Mar 28, 2009 Pretty floral aroma with a noticeable hop scent. Good flavor, but I was expecting a little more. Pours a clear amber color with a small white head. The taste was mostly of hops and citrus, but the flavor went away pretty quickly. It was good, but something stronger would be better for me. TheHulk (106), Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada Mar 27, 2009 I heard about this in my "Extreme Homebrewing" book written by the owner/founder Sam Caligianoe, and I was expecting more. The story of this beer goes: my best friend works at a liquor store and got this beer from a guy in Ontario who traded trough ratebeer. The guy in Ontario got some Wild Rose Imperial IPA and I think he got the better deal. This is a very nice beer, and I would give it to my friends, but after reading about the Zopinator and considering it for a future batch I think I will keep searching. Just not quite the hops kick in the mouth I thought I was going to get. Cole (266), , Alberta, Canada Mar 27, 2009 From the bottle. Great floral aroma, very hopy nose. Interesting flavour bitter but not over powering. there is just a little something else though. It’s probably the mystery HopX,.,..... It has a very dry finish and smooth mouth fee. It’s a good IPA, But I like them Stronger. beezz86 (68), Jasper, Indiana, USA Mar 26, 2009 Bottle. Poured a clear yellow-orange color and had a minimal white head with little lacing. The aroma was very hoppy and had hints of citrus, floral, and pine hops. The beer has a medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, and a bitter finish. The flavor follows the aroma and is very hoppy. Overall, I really like this beer. It has a very unique flavor from the combination of hops. This is a great beer to drink for flavor.
