Vibrant sunset orange colour, with an off white head that has tons of tiny bubbles. Incredibly fresh hop aroma, like cutting into a hop cone that is still growing on the vine. "Planty" flavours - like chewing on a hop cone. Very bitter flavours on the tongue. Finish is light considering the crazy stuff in the mouth.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 herbjones (742) - Orange, California, USA - JUN 13, 2003
Pours the color of a wildflower honey. Nice wispy white head recedes to a halo that lasts for the duration.Nose is a malty citrus concoction that is very enticing.Flavor is citrusy hoppy but with a weird semi-balance that is off in a weird way that I cant describe. It's good but not as good as the 90 by far. Thanks to maxpower for this one!

UPDATED: MAY 22, 2005 Pours a golden hue with a frothy-light- white head. Aroams of light pine, a little buttery, a hint of grass and freshness. Flavors of the same with a nice bitterness witha a clean finish . Like sierra nevada, without the cascade, in that it is the perfect session ale.

UPDATED: JUL 18, 2007 Wow. Medium-dark orange with a big white head. Strong orange-like aroma. Wonderfully fruity ... grapefruit of course and maybe a little pear ... with a bodied malt backdrop. Frothy on the tongue. I’m in love.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Indra (2361) - Overland Park, Kansas, USA - JUN 11, 2003
Even immediately after opening, the aroma of this beer is very "kind." Moreso than any aroma I've been exposed to thus far. Cool. Light-medium golden in color, gently hazed and sedimented, with a fairly creamy, white colored head and copious lacing. Flavor possesses a multitude of hop attributes, including earthiness, light but juicy citrus, pine and spice, along with a lightly toasted maltiness, providing substance and some light sweetness. Light-medium bodied. Finishes on a quiet note. Very drinkable.

This is very much the IPA. Beautiful aroma. No hints of anything offensive--this coming from a non-hophead. Light color. (on tap, Pennsylvania Microbrewers Fest 2003)

Hazy gold-amber with smallish head. Piney citrus hops jumps out of the aroma, continues into the first mouthful. The malts are there somewhere, attempting to balance but not actually accomplishing that feat; if you're into hops this one's for you. A very good IPA, has some character of it's own and is ultimately very drinkable.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 AustinMilbarge (681) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JUN 8, 2003
Great bitter, citrus/floral aroma. Frothy head. Slightly hazy honey/golden color to the body. Not too much carbonation at all. Very hoppy taste, obviously. This is one of the few beers that I've rated recently that I could sit down and drink a few without getting saturated.

Bottle. Hazy golden color with a thin laced head. Grassy aroma with a bitter bite in the flavor. A solid IPA. I enjoyed this while camping at the Austin Creek S.R.A.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 beerguy101 (4924) - Newark, California, USA - JUN 8, 2003
Medium orange color. Medium head. Aroma is citrusy hops. A fuller bodied IPA. Malts are fruity and slightly sweet. Hops are grapefruity and piney. The hops are very prominent and are definitely in the forefront taste wise, but its still a very well balanced beer. Nice big chewy hops. Smooth taste. Not as intense as the 90 minute IPA. Very nice IPA. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is fruity and then slightly bitter.
