I may have liked this one even better than the Dogfish 90 Minute Imperial IPA although the ratings say otherwise...go figure, who said this was a perfect science. Anyway, poured yellow/clear slight cloud. Stamp says bottled 2 months ago, and tasted fresh...found at local Whole Foods Market.

Strong inviting hop aroma. A nice tan orange color with a formidable head. Not as bitter as the 90 min, but still very good. Had a crisp refreshing quality.

This is a VERY good IPA. It has a nice aroma of pine and floral hops. This beer is easier to drink than the other Dogfish IPA’s. I has a nice balance and will be a regular beer in my rotation.

The nose is greeted with a strong aroma of floral and some fruitiness. The color is a deep orange with a rich tan head. Head retention is almost fully lasting and the lacing is considerable. Initially there is a bitter citrusy flavor with a dry hoppy finish.

Pours a clear golden with a normal white staying head. Aroma of pine, grapefruit, and floral hops. Also some sweet caramel malts. Taste is more of the same. Not perfectly balanced, and it shouldn’t be, since it’s an IPA. But, unlike a lot of IPA’s, the caramel malt sweetness fits in well with all of the flavors. This beer is a lot easier to drink than the 90 minute due to the lack of alcohol burn. I also feel less guilty drinking a few of these in one sitting. Very good IPA.

Bottled: Golden coloured. Unclear. Huge white head. Herbal, flowery and spiced aroma. Some citric notes and pineneedeles in the background. Flavour is citric, chocolatish, herbal and flowery, light fruitnotes. Full bodied and loads of power in the mouthfeel. Ends on a bitter note. Pleasant and balanced. Thanks to Probiere for trading this.

Lovely clear amber and an off whtie head.settling to a thin ring pretty quickly. Aromas of lemon and some spice. Nice clean medium body, tingly carbonation. Hop flavors of peppery spice, grapefruit, dominate the lightly sweet caramel malt. Dry finish that is not overly bitter. A very good IPA.

Bu au Mondial de la Bière 05. Plus forte que les autres IPA que j’ai bu, qui la rent moin amère à mon goût. Un petit goût d’agrume. C’est bon.

I had this on tap as part of the sampler set on 2/4/2006 at the Gaithersburg Dogfish Alehouse. This was the second most pleasant of the beers of the night in the sampler, the Stout and Pale Ale were tied in my book. Lighter in hops than expected for such a long hop, but was a nice light amber color, actually darker than the 90 Minute IPA. Generally good flavor and not too bitter.

Bottle: Poured a very slightly cloudy gold with hardly any head and it dissolved quickly. Sweet hop smell. Particular bite to this IPA, not so much even bitter. Had common elements with the Rogue Juniper Pale, so I’d definately give it some Juniper qualities and other green plant/leaf matter that I can’t pinpoint.
