Bottle Pours a slightly hazy pale orange/amber. Dense white head and spotty coarse lacing. Aroma of sweet lightly toasted grains and moderate hop componant. Flavor is a deep maltiness balanced very well with the bold but not biting hops. Feel is a bit thin but soft carbonation and a nice sweet slightly hopy aftertaste. Expected a stronger more bitter beer for the style but am happy with this one.

Pours a rich amber colour with a thin tan head, leaves a nice sticky lace on the glass as I drink it. Fresh I.P.A. aromas issue forth, piney hops, and some apples. The taste is again fresh like this was just made. It would be a great session beer as I could drink a ton of these. Damn, we donít get enough American beers up here

12 oz bottle. Consumed directly from bottle, so I donít know how it pours. Iíve had this beer a number of times but never rated it until now. Itís actually better than I remembered. Perhaps Iím confusing it with 90. As others have said, this one is not too malty nor hoppy. Yet it has plenty of both. Pleasant aftertaste too, perhaps leaning towards malt. Iíll have another, please.

Bottle. Deep orange color, clear, some floaties. Nose is very well balanced, though admittedly hop-forward, with big grapefruit citrus aroma hops, pine, and caramel malt. Medium body. Flavor mimics aroma-- lots, but well balanced, of citrusy and piney hop flavor, thickish light malt sweetness and decent amount of hop bitterness. Long, sticky finish (reminds you youíre drinkiní good beer). The industry standard IPA; I just love this stuff!

Donít let the ratings fool you. From tap and bottle, this IPA outshines the 90-minute on nearly every front, especially drinkability. It has a lively, fizzy aroma without the aggressive alcohol kick of the 90-minute. If youíre looking for a beer you can drink all night without losing interest (or getting so drunk it doesnít matter), then this is it.

UPDATED: APR 2, 2009 From the bottle.

Pours a light amber-orange with an adequate head. The aroma is a big rich citrus with a bit of caramel malt; the flavor is sweeter and less overtly hopped than I expected from either the aroma or the reputation. The palate is slightly sticky/oily. The hop bitterness is remarkably restrained early on, only making its presence fully known late in the long finish, and the sweet malt persists a bit too long for my personal taste. 7/3/8/3/15=3.6

On tap, my opinion of this one doesnít change much; weíve got a light mouthfeel feel and refreshing if slightly sweet and decidedly fruity taste that gives the malts an ample share of the stage.

Rerate 4/2/09. Bottle at some DC restaurant. Iím not sure why I rated this one as high as I did. Diacetyl, frusty esters, sweet and oily -- yuck.

Aroma is like field full of hops after a rain. What that means I dontí know I live in a desert but itís wonderful. Nice golden orange color. Hop balance was perfect on the palate. Very flavorfull and smooth. A good beer. New distribution out here has been great but the beers are pricey, still worh it.

This was my first Dogfish Head, and it certainly wonít be my last. Not too hoppy, not too malty. I think it finds a nice median of the two. It pours golden with an offwhite head.

Bottle. Numerous tastings, most recent was an 02 bottle. Orangey gold pour. Piney citrusy hop aroma, with some malt backing. Sweet caramel malt and woddy citrusy hops balance well in flavor.

Bottled. Pours a deep golden color. Nice hoppy aroma. Lots of pine, citrus and spice. A fair amount of maltiness as well. Good quality IPA. Nice balance of hops and malts. Easy drinking. Nice bitter finish.
