3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
tap. Aroma: Caramel and malt, and then the hops. Hops smell like grapefruit, light floral, and a touch of spice. A lot more subtle than I thought it would be. Appearance: Slightly hazy medium amber in color. Small off white head didnít last long. Almost no lacing. Flavor: Citrus flavors jusmp out at me first, mostly grapefruit. Some potpurri floral notes in there as well. Caramel and bready flavors help to balance this out, and then the bitterness kicks in. Nice bitterness. Not to aggressive, but enough to let you know that thereís a bunch of hops in here. Palate: Medium bodied. Good carbonation. Alcohol left a good warming sensation on back of tongue after a few drinks. Finish was slightly sweet. Floral flavor built up on my tongue after awhile. Had to drink some water a few times to cleanse my palate. Overall: A very nice and well balanced beer. I could drink this one all day.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
First beer in over a month- Pours a light amber color. I wouldnít have rated it a 5 in a appearance if I didnít have a big pillowy head. The best head I have ever seen on such a light colored beer. Aroma hinted that this beer was on the malty side. First taste was deliciously smooth. Differs in taste from other IPAís and its brotheren in the minute family. Quite delicious, would drink again.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: OCT 9, 2006 Yummy. This straddles the line when I canít decide whether to have a spicy or smooth PA. Great taste but the finish of this IPA has a little nip to it that doesnít quite work for me or Iíd rate it higher.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured from a 12 oz. bottle to a golden-orange, with thin off-white head and great lacing. Aroma was not real pronounced, but a very pleasant mix of citrus and floral. Taste was a continuation of this floral and citrus, but what I noticed immediatley was the dominance of the alcohol. While only 6%, this hit me from the initial sip, and carried on thru the entire glass. The finish is bitter, yet smooth, but most of all leaves a warming sensation from the alcohol. In addition to the 60 minute, I also have the 90- and 120- minute, and canít wait to try those when the time is right. This was my first DFH, and I am truly pleased.

I love the 90 minute, but this one didnít do it for me. It was too bitter. None of the lovely floral, citrus components of the 90 minute, nor the malt balance.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This beer has a hazy golden color and an alchoholic aroma. The taste: floral at first, but the hops quickly overcome any other taste. Still, itís crisp. clean and refreshing. Great for hot weather. Unfortunately, not available in Alabama.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This is a good IPA from one of my favorite brewers. It pours a golden amber color, and has a nice hoppy aroma. The flavor is primarily of malt and bitter hops. This is one you can have time and again, and is especially great during the summer months.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
This is a solid IPA. The hop character is less floral than many of its contemporaries. The color is dark amber with nice head retention. 60 minute has a very subtle malty aroma and chewy, bitter finish that will satiate the hophead demon that dwells in the worst of us.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Medium amber in colour with average carbonation. The aromas are quite well balanced between the light crystal malts, and the citrus-spice element of the hops. Full in the mouth, with the malt (both crystal and a bit of toasted) leading the way. The hops were there in abundance, but not so much as to overwhelm things. A very classy and refined IPA.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Golden pour with a frothy and lasting white head. Hoppy aroma, not overpowering and a good bit of malt in the background. Taste is of very floral hops, not too much, but still thick and resinous. Toasty malt in the finish. Crisp and slighly sweet finish. Darn good.
