The aroma is really nice and a good example IPA. There is spruce, citrus, and grass like hops, along with malt. The appearance is a deep gold with a medium head. The flavor is bitter and malty with all the elements from the aroma but not overpowering. The palate is near perfect. A worthy IPA that has a moderately bitter aftertaste and a hint of lemon.

This was a lot less bitter than I was expecting. I found it a nicely complex beer that Iíll try again.

17apr06 six bottles for $7.79. The aroma is fruity and smells great. Flavor is strong and bold but not overboard. This is the best beer Iíve come across so far since moving up to micros.

12oz bottle bottled on 02/03/06. Pours an amber golden color, very fizzy. Huge head, white, good lacing, slowly diminishing. Very hoppy aroma, pale, dry. Bitter taste, semi-sweet aftertaste, semi-pale, semi-bitter. Good balanced taste.

The color of this beer is gold with a hint of amber. The aroma is slightly sweet, perhaps a hint of honey. Taste is full and strong, hoppy and refreshing. I love this beer!

Pours a clear golden color with a nice sized white head. Initial aroma is a cross between burn grain and a mild roasted coffee following quickly with pine needles and a bit of citrus. Taste is very good with large amounts of citrus and pine from the hops which are kept in balanced by a slight bit of malt. Beer is medium bodied and lightly carbonated. Finish is a little weak compared to other IPAís. All and all this is a great solid IPA and Iím glad I finally got to taste it!

From Bottle. Golden amber pour with a nice white head that quickly diminishes to a soapy ring around the edges of my glass. Lightly citrus aroma with a sappy cedar cone note and some rye cracker. Medium bodied, with a nice clean, creamy carbonation. Surprisingly gentle flavors of caramel malts that precedes its hoppy side. The hops are well rounded and smooth, leaving a refreshing smack of blue spruce on my palate. This is a much better example than a sample I had in a previous un-rated tasting. Thanks, Bert!
