Dogfish slipped a bit on this IPA. The taste is much harsher than their other IPAs and it has a much more unbalanced bitterness than their other IPAs.

A sharp beer with a very citrus aftertaste. Almost no head comes from this beer when poured even though there is a significant amount of carbonation. Far harder of a taste than the 90 minute IPA by Dogfish.

Let me just say first off that I don’t really like IPA’s. I like some, but this one just was not for me, but I tried to be fair when rating it. It smelled floral and bitter and was earthy in taste as well with a slight metallicness to it which might have been the bitterness. It didn’t really have that hoppy bite of bitterness at first, but got real strong towards the end. So much so that I couldn’t even finish it. The one thing I did like was how it looked, a nice golden orange, but it had no head.

looks like a cup of apple juice w/ a white lacey head, hoppy floral apple nose, watery mouthfeel, lingering esters, buttery, caramel fresh hops and leaving just enough room on the plate for a deep rooted desire for habitual use

Bottle. Poured out a honey colored clear IPA, with a medium off-white head. The aroma was very strongly floral hops, with a little ash and grapefruit. Flavor is hugely hops and a little honey at the outset, with some bitter undertones and a crisp, piney, grassy finish. Palate is medium bodied. Very good IPA, but not outstanding.

Cask version at Firkin’s, Libertyville, IL. Clear amber hued IPA having a lasting large creamy white head with excellent lacing. Intoxicating aroma of citrus and hoppy florals. Some carbonation. Medium bodied that starts with light sweet malt and intense flowery hop bitterness and finishes dry with flowery hop bitterness. Lovely fresh tasting hoppy beer – hopheads take note.

Pours a copper color with an average head. It has a sweet, hoppy flavor with a bitter hopped finish. Very yummy - almost like you are chewing on a bud.

Too sweet for an IPA. A lot of variation from batch to batch...introduction of randomness is not something I enjoy when spending money on beer.

Undrinkably icky until it warmed for a good twenty minutes. After that, the malt shined through, with sticky chunky caramel and plenty of bread, biscuit, muffin, and dough notes. Hops are a bit unrefined, dipping into acerbic resin in the middle of the tongue, but decently balanced. Mouthfeel is pleasantly heavy and sticky.

Bottle. Poured a clear medium-golden with a very solid initial layer of off-white head. Very aggressively hopped in both the aroma and flavor... primarily of the grapefruit and freshly-picked spring pine needle variety. Aroma also had a faint underlying caramelly sweetness to it. Flavor picked up a little more of the caramel. Crisp, clean, and smooth on the palate, and exceptionally easy to drink. Light caramel and tingly bright piney hops on the finish. This was quite good... need to pick up several more.
