Undrinkably icky until it warmed for a good twenty minutes. After that, the malt shined through, with sticky chunky caramel and plenty of bread, biscuit, muffin, and dough notes. Hops are a bit unrefined, dipping into acerbic resin in the middle of the tongue, but decently balanced. Mouthfeel is pleasantly heavy and sticky.

Bottle. Poured a clear medium-golden with a very solid initial layer of off-white head. Very aggressively hopped in both the aroma and flavor... primarily of the grapefruit and freshly-picked spring pine needle variety. Aroma also had a faint underlying caramelly sweetness to it. Flavor picked up a little more of the caramel. Crisp, clean, and smooth on the palate, and exceptionally easy to drink. Light caramel and tingly bright piney hops on the finish. This was quite good... need to pick up several more.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Good and hoppy, fairly strong. A great beer to sip on if you like a hoppy, but not too bitter beer.

3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Golden amber appearance, with a strong malty aroma, smells more like a stout to me. Hoppy flavor with a bitter bite. Sticky texture, medium bodied, with an abrupt finish, lively carbonation. Decent IPA, and another good beer from Dogfish.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Highly satisfying IPA. Nice head well carbonated. Palate is light enough with hints of hops that say hey this beer deserves another round and another. ;)

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
10/16/05 bottle. Pours a 2 inch white head and a cloudy light orange color. Smells sweet with light malts. Quite carbonated with a very clean finish, not extremley hoppy like I expected. Good lacing in the head and throughout the beer. Long lasting head. Slight watery finish which peaks my interset to why that is. Great brew and well deserving beer from DFH.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Small head out of bottle, very thin. Nice color, kind of dark copper. Nice aroma, smooth bitterness, very pleasing taste. Ends with some hoppy flavor that lingers in the aftertaste. Aftertaste is pretty good for an IPA.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Mild bitterness in the head, nice golden amber body. Full flavor and a decent aftertaste. Not my favorite IPA, but I’d buy it again
