3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma is that of very high quality marijuana. Earthy, rich and potent. Herb-infused (no pun intended) flavor with a bit of creaminess. Wonderfully yet not overpowering hops.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: JUL 31, 2005 RE-Rate: After numreous bottles of this, this is probably my favorite IPA. Great body, creamy. Hops in the aroma and flavor are unique and fresh.Delicious!
Hazy,autumn-leaf.Milky, clingy, foam.Leves patches. Intense hop aromas. Not everday hops, smells german(earthy, spicy),and citrus.Little malt in the aroma as well. Palate is just a bit fizzy.Hops are all over the mouth.Big toasty, sweet malt right before the finish.Lots of hops otherwise. Smoothens out as it warms.Finish becomes a bit cleaner.Very fun!

Well, this was my first Dogfish Head, and I can honestly say that it was definitely worth the wait and the distance (had to travel all the way to Dayton, OH to try this one). I'm not even a huge IPA fan, but this is obviously a well contructed beer, and simply built to please. It's hoppy enough for those IPA enthusiats, but just mellow enough for us "light weights." My only regret is that I didn't take any home to share with friends.

Yummy. Hazy orangy amber color, some head. I saw something chunky floating in there. Smells of earthy hops, and some bitter malt. I'm digging it so far. The taste is hoppy, also bitter and earthy, with a bit of lingering fruit. The malt, although light and not sweet, stands up surprisingly well to the hop onslaught. Not sure if I would always reach for a bottle of this, but if I want to think about my beer while I drink it, this isn't a bad one to drink.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy light copper color, creamy off white head, pine and citrus in the nose, resiny pine flavors, medium body has a crisp carbonated feel on the tongue, sharp bitterness in the finish, seems a little bit rough, not as good as I expected, still not bad.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JUN 1, 2003 Fresh hop aroma lifted from a light amber color but the flavors were corny citrus spice (kinda like dreadnaught hops) and syrupy with a resiny stickiness to the mouthfeel and flowers coming through too..the hops used seem corny to me, as in "not cool."

a nice innocent hoppy feel to the aroma with a full forst behind it. really malty, not too much bitterness, smells like really bad popouri. Tastes like soap.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
This beer pours a very plain yellow color with small head and minimal lacing on the glass. The aroma was very strange - very sweet and it almost reminds me of a pine tree (?) maybe. Odd either way. The taste is somewhat citrus, somewhat something I can't figure out. The taste is very odd just as is the aroma, but I can't place the taste well either. If you're looking for something out of the ordinary, this is the beer for you. It is a very good beer and it represents the genre of IPA well, but it is quite a bit different than most other IPA's that you'll find. Doesn't leave much on the palate after drinking either.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A bitter, hoppy IPA. Very dry, almost no sweet maltiness at all. It has an interesting little burnt "something" flavour going on underneath all the hops. Golden color almost resembles a macro, but don't let that fool you. An excellent ale for hopheads like myself. Similar to Weyerbacher Hops Infusion. I really enjoyed it, but Hopdevil is 2 bucks less for a six-pack, so I'll stick with the demon for my regular hop fix.

4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: JAN 22, 2006 New Rating: This is just the best session beer ever. I love this stuff. It is the perfectly balanced IPA. No real bitterness (which I don’t mind), and no citrusy sweet finish that is found with other strong IPAs (such as Anchor Liberty Ale). To top it all off, the beer pours to a gorgeous dark amber with a beautiful thick head. My all-around favorite brew right now. I could drink this stuff every day, no problem.
