Pours dark golden to light amber, crystal clear, thick white head. Real big aromas of hops and grapefruit. Hop flavor grips your taste buds right from the beginning and grows incrementally til 30 seconds after you swallow. A touch of sweetness runs throughout. One of my favorite beers.

12oz bottle, packed in "1". Pours a crystal clear copper colot, very little foam, but that little does seem to cling to the edges of the glass nicely. Odd that a bottle-conditioned beer would pour so clear and leave absolutely no trace of yeast deposit in the bottom of the bottle. Smells of toasty malt and woody hops. Drinks with more of the same. The Warrior and X hops seem like earth to me...and I don’t get the citrusy fruitiness of the Amarillo. Aroma becomes very bready to me as I sip, with an almost roasty quality in there and the finish as well...Overall, the hops are strong, earthy, and not all that bitter to my tongue. I percieve a good bit of maltiness in this as well, a mark of a good IPA, IMO. Pretty good beer, the hops used make it a bit of a different spin on the normal American IPAs...makes me wonder how my all-Warrior IPA will turn out!

Draught @ Papago<P> The beer pours a cloudless deep amber color with a monsterous creamy light tan head that declines slowly leaving a thick and clinging blanket of lace upon the glass. Nose has a marvelous hop floral spiciness with a sweet and somewhat earthy malt aroma, lime like in its crispness, fresh and so inviting it just makes your mouth water in anticipation, start is sweet and delightfully malted with the top middling in its feel to the palate. Finish delicately carbonated with the hops magnificent in their spicy bite, dry long lasting hop laden aftertaste lay easy on the palate, oh how happy we hopheads now that “Dogfish Head” is available in Arizona “Woo Hoo”!

2005 Great Arizona Beer Festival sample 8oz. Cooper color and small head. It was 90 degrees outside and this hoppy experience was great to start out my day. Will have to find me a bottle of this one. Great Beer.

Although I rather prefer the 90, this one is a very fine beer, especially for those just starting out in the IPA world. It has a nice full bodied flavour that is nice to savor. It has a great amount of hop power and is a good beer overall.

Copper in color with a fairly large and frothy head. Very aromatically hoppy nose, showing the lemony/citrusy Amarillo and the floral Warrior along with a touch of malt, which hints of caramel and biscuits. Hops dominate the flavor providing a very fruity blend of apricot, orange, citrus fruits, lemon and a touch of wheat grass. The malt underneath shows a bit of biscuits and butter toffee, balancing fairly well. An undeniably great India Pale Ale, although I would prefer if the continuous hop addition was more Amarillo and less Warrior.

You know, I avoided this for a while since I had already had the 90 min. and 120 min. from dogfish head, but I’ve gotta say I’m impressed. Don’t be mistaken, the 90 min. is better, but this is a quality IPA. It’s really quite similar to the 90min. just not as bold and not as smooth. The real beauty of this brew is the price tag, perfect when you need something good and cheap.

Bottle. Can’t believe I’ve never gotten around to rating this. Hazy amber/orange color with a good sized white head. Aroma of hops, citrus, pine and malt. Flavor is initially hoppy before the malt comes through, then finishes with a nice hop bitterness. Nicely well balanced and drinkable.

Overall, a very pleasant IPA. Hoppish, indeed, in the flavor, but less so in the aroma. And t’is true that the flavor sticks to the palete long after the drink has gone down...quite nice. The finest virtue of this beer is in it’s simplicity...the flavor is not complex but full (and hoppish). 4 Samples have yielded a pleasant lethargy that I must attribute the fine character of this delightful IPA.
